○ Match Digest
Although FC Tokyo U-18 lost their opening match of the tournament, they gradually improved their condition, corrected the shortcomings seen in the first game, and prepared steadily. On a warm sunny day at the Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multipurpose Ground, they welcomed Omiya Socio for the second match. With a firm mindset of "We have to win. Let's try to score as many goals as possible. Let's carefully observe how the opponent will approach and how to surpass them, and communicate well with each other," the players faced the 11:00 a.m. kickoff.

Tokyo aggressively attacked from the start, taking control of the game. Right after kickoff, Tokyo’s attacking duo exploded, producing a flood of goals. The first goal came in the 6th minute. Kishi received Kawakami’s arcing pass, immediately turned, and struck a brilliant right-footed shot!! Kishi scored again in the 10th minute to add another goal!! In the 13th minute, Yajima swung in a powerful shot from a cross by Kamoike who had overlapped, scoring the third goal!! Then in the 20th minute, Ohnishi connected with his head on Ito’s left corner kick at the far post, and Kishi headed it in centrally for the fourth goal!! In the 24th minute, Kishi’s cross and in the 27th minute, a ball connected from Kawakami’s short corner was quickly finished by Yajima, netting the sixth goal!! In the 33rd minute, Yajima intercepted the ball and Kishi dribbled through to add another goal!! In the 36th minute, after a combination between Ito and Kishi, Yajima finished to make it the eighth goal!! Then in the 42nd minute, Kawakami received a pass from Takahashi and scored with a looping shot for the ninth goal!!
The last goal of the first half came in the 44th minute. Takahashi intercepted the ball, dribbled forward, and scored the decisive 10th goal, ending the first half at 10-0.

At halftime, Coach Motoyoshi confirmed, "Let's improve the quality of play when entering the attacking third. Defend solidly to avoid conceding from a single counterattack." The team took the field for the second half with a formation that substituted Yanagisawa for Gokatsu, Aoki for Nagasawa, Ito for Watanabe, and Tamiya for Yamagishi.

At 47 minutes, just after the start of the second half, the opponent entered Tokyo's defensive attacking third and immediately scored, making it 10-1. Regaining their composure, Tokyo then scored three consecutive goals: at 49 minutes from a cross by Yamagishi, at 51 minutes from a pass by Nagasawa who dribbled forward, and at 53 minutes from a long ball by Watanabe received by Kishi!! Then at 62 minutes, Watanabe passed to Kawakami who took a shot, but the opposing GK cleared it. However, Yajima, who was quick to follow up, pushed the ball in!! At 65 minutes, Yajima received a pass from Kawakami and struck with his right foot!! Tokyo’s momentum did not subside, and although they created many chances, the opposing GK’s fine saves prevented additional goals. The deadlock was broken by Kawakami. At 74 minutes, the freshman duo Watanabe and Nagasawa carefully connected the ball, and Kawakami shot from the center to score the 16th goal!! At 75 minutes, fresh players Takada and Shimodaira were brought on, replacing Onishi and Kawakami respectively. One minute later, at 76 minutes, Kishi scored the 17th goal assisted immediately after coming on by Shimodaira!! However, at 77 minutes, they conceded a goal due to a lapse in defense. Then at 80 minutes, Yamaguchi, who had just been promoted to U-18 and was returning from injury, replaced Yajima. Finally, at 90 minutes, Watanabe held the ball and Yamaguchi scored his comeback goal, the 18th, and the match ended 18-2.

All players, including those who came on as substitutes, were active and helped secure a victory by scoring many goals. However, the number of shots was more than double the number of goals, indicating an issue with finishing. We want to improve our accuracy in front of goal and approach the next match against Mitsubishi Yowa SC Youth with that in mind.
