●Match Digest
The opponent for Sec. 8 of the 2011 Prince Takamado U-18 Soccer League Premier League was Mitsubishi Yowa SC Youth.
The venue, Fukagawa Ground, kicked off at 11:00 a.m. under the harsh sunlight following yesterday’s end of the rainy season.

Today's starting lineup includes Nozawa, who returned from the U-17 Japan national team that reached the best eight in the U-17 World Cup, as well as Kobayashi, who has recovered from injury. Additionally, Hashimoto, who has temporarily rejoined from the top team after injury, is also on the bench. The team aims for victory with the best members.

Both teams showed a cautious start. Possibly considering the heat, Tokyo refrained from pressing too aggressively from the front, defending in zones, leading to intense battles for possession in midfield.
2 minutes: Yuasa reacted to a long ball from the back line, broke through behind the opposing DF line, and took a shot! However, it did not find the goal.
Both teams are holding their defensive lines high, resulting in a very compact style of play. The battle for possession in midfield continues, and Tokyo struggles to calmly circulate the ball.
5 minutes: Iwaki picks up a loose ball in midfield and dribbles up the left side. He back-passes to Nozawa, who immediately takes a direct shot! However, it hits the opponent's defender's leg and goes out for a corner kick.
Kobayashi met the ball from kicker Iwaki with a header, but the shot was narrowly blocked by the opposing DF, failing to take the lead.
Tokyo continues to simply target behind the opponent's DF line. They look for chances by leveraging the speed of their quick two forwards, Yuasa and Iwata.
12 minutes: Nozawa, receiving the ball in midfield, delivers a perfect through pass from a wide perspective to Iwata, who started running forward while turning around! Iwata competes with the opposing defender and, while falling, takes a shot, but it is blocked by the GK, resulting in a corner kick. Unfortunately, this corner is cleared.
At 14 and 18 minutes, Yuasa and Iwata each attempted a through pass behind the opposing DF, but the GK intercepted both.
26 minutes: The referee called for a water break, and both teams took the opportunity to hydrate.
After the restart, neither side was able to reach a finish, and a period of patience continued.
27 min: The opposing DF takes a powerful long shot. Although it was quite a distance, the ball bounced once and flew to the upper right of the goalmouth, and Tani barely managed to deflect it. From this corner kick, the ball was headed in cleanly, but Kobayashi calmly saved it.
29 min: Yoshida, who received a side change pass from Fukumori freely, dribbled deep into the opponent's territory. After checking inside, he sent a free cross! Iwata, Yuasa, and Iwaki all ran in, but lacking accuracy, they could not create a decisive chance.
30': Lins steals the ball from a mistake by the opposing DF and dribbles alone straight toward the goal! It looked like he would shoot, but he passed to Iwata in the center. This pass was read by the opponent and cleared.
35': From a FK caught by Tani, a huge punt kick is sent to Iwaki, who is running alone up front. It connects perfectly, and Tokyo quickly faces a chance. After a momentary hesitation, he dribbles past one DF and passes to the center! The ball was a bit long, but Nozawa keeps possession on the far side. Surrounded by two players, he shows persistence near the goal line and breaks through by dribbling! It looked like a beautiful nutmeg to get past, but unfortunately the ball went out over the touchline, resulting in a goal kick decision.
Yowa gradually began to slow down due to the heat. Taking advantage of this, Yoshida on the right side repeatedly created chances with incredible stamina.
36 minutes: The attack stalled on the left side, and while rebuilding the attack from Iwaki to Yamaguchi to Nozawa, Yoshida overlapped freely. Upon receiving the ball, he carefully sent a cross in front of the goal, but it was cleared by the opposing center back.
44': Iwaki receives the ball and breaks free with a one-two pass with Nozawa. He then dribbles past the opposing defender, cuts inside toward the center, and delivers a perfect lob pass to the forward Yuasa. Yuasa takes a shot on receiving the through pass, but it goes well wide, and the first half ends with the whistle.

Tokyo managed to take three shots by the end of the first half. Since all were clear scoring opportunities, they want to demonstrate clinical finishing in the second half, even with fewer chances.
At halftime, Yuasa was substituted, bringing in Hashimoto, who is making his first appearance in the youth team in a while.
Confirming the forward movements and the actions of Hashimoto playing just behind the striker, they head into the second half.

46 minutes: A clear chance comes immediately after the second half starts. Yamaguchi, receiving the ball in the defensive midfield position, passes it to Iwaki on the left side. Then, Muramatsu, overlapping from behind, overtakes and receives the ball, quickly sending in a cross! When Iwata lets it go through, Yamaguchi runs in free and shoots! Despite the powerful shot, the opposing goalkeeper desperately deflects it, and Tokyo narrowly misses taking the lead.
49 minutes: Hashimoto, who came on as a substitute, impresses. Yamaguchi loses the ball in a dangerous position and almost concedes a counterattack, but Hashimoto immediately presses and wins the ball back with excellent defense. Furthermore, he quickly tries a through pass to Iwaki up front, but it is just a bit too long and caught by the goalkeeper. This play earns applause from the stands.
58 minutes: Yoshida made a solo breakthrough down the right side. Dodging two opposing defenders, he sent a cross to the center! Iwata, who received the ball, made an exquisite trap and laid it off to the onrushing Hashimoto. Hashimoto carefully took a shot with his right foot, but it was met by a superb save from the goalkeeper, and the net did not ripple.
Just like in the first half, they failed to convert clear chances when controlling the pace, and the score remained unchanged, leading to a stalemate.
63rd minute: A shot was taken from the opponent’s right corner kick and struck the crossbar. The tense moment caused a murmur to ripple through the stadium.
Despite few chances for both sides, neither team could capitalize on decisive opportunities, and the tense match continued.
75': Kishi is brought onto the pitch, replacing Iwata.
76': Newly substituted Kishi creates a scoring chance. Yoshida dribbles past on the right side once again and passes to Hashimoto in the center. Kishi shoots the ball dropped from Hashimoto's hold-up play! The shot is on target but caught by the goalkeeper.
79': Mitsubishi Yowa made a triple substitution, bringing in fresh players to aim for a goal.
82': Aoki was brought on to replace Iwaki.
89': Up front, Kishi contested a long pass, and Aoki picked up the loose ball. He then surged up the left side and delivered a cross! Hashimoto chest-trapped it in the center but was unable to take a shot.
On the contrary, Yowa launched a quick counterattack from here. Although they were short in numbers and faced a crisis, Kobayashi cleared the cross and averted danger.
After that, they launched a fierce attack using the flanks and Hashimoto as the starting point, but could not get a shot off, and the merciless final whistle blew.

Perhaps due to the intense heat, both teams attempted compact soccer, making this match feel like it had few clear scoring opportunities overall.
However, for Tokyo, this match provided many elements that will serve as both nourishment and challenges going forward, such as stable defense, battles in midfield, the way attacks were organized after Hashimoto came on in the second half, and the accuracy of crosses.
With four consecutive draws, the next match away against the in-form Sapporo is also expected to be a difficult game.
However, the team will unite to aim for victory and face the final match of the first half of the league on July 16!
We appreciate your continued passionate support.
Thank you very much to all the guests who came today despite the intense heat.
