○ Match Report
After winning the first two matches, FC Tokyo U-18 suffered consecutive defeats against Yamanashi Gakuin University High School, which has many players from FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa and U-15 Musashi, and Maebashi Ikuei High School. To return to the Premier League, they cannot afford to lose any more. The players approached the match with determination, saying, "Let's unite our fighting spirit and give it our all for 90 minutes. Especially during tough times, let's encourage each other and put in so much energy that we collapse after the final whistle!" The match against Yokohama F.Marinos Youth kicked off at 11:00 a.m. at the Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multipurpose Ground under the scorching sun.

Although Yokohama FM took the first shot, Tokyo quickly responded with shots from Tamiya and Kawakami early on. Tokyo launched aggressive attacks, and in the 8th minute, Nagasawa received a grounded pass from Aihara, dribbled through, and calmly scored the opening goal!! However, by the 12th minute, Yokohama FM began pressing with their passing game. A foul led to a right free kick, which was directly placed into the left corner of the goal, conceding a goal. The match was back to square one. Tokyo, persistently pushing toward the goal, built up the game with increased coordination. Then, in the 21st minute, Aihara carried the ball forward by dribbling and passed it while the opposing defenders had not fully recovered. Nagasawa received it and passed to Kishi. Kishi had a one-on-one chance against the opposing goalkeeper, but his shot was blocked, resulting in a corner kick.
Kawakami's left corner kick was initially cleared, but Ito connected with a header, and receiving it, Kawakami sent in a cross from the left. Yanagisawa met it with a header in the center to score an additional goal!! The fast-paced switching between offense and defense continued, but neither side gave an inch, and the first half ended with a score of 2-1.

Coach Motoyoshi and the players confirmed, "We have made a good start to the match. We were able to control the game better than the opponent. The next goal in the second half will be crucial. The heat is severe, so let's manage the time well and build up simply," before heading onto the pitch for the second half.

Although they continuously brought the ball up to finishing positions, the match gradually began to shift in favor of Yokohama FM. Even when Yokohama FM dropped the ball back, they immediately launched it inside, gathering the ball to their two forwards and fast players on the sides, pressing forward with quick attacks toward the Tokyo goal. Tokyo responded by bringing in fresh players: Hasukawa for Ito in the 65th minute, Yamagishi for Kamoike in the 66th, and Minami for Tamiya in the 69th. However, in the 73rd minute, they conceded a goal from a free kick awarded by a foul, headed in centrally. Tokyo repeatedly lost second balls and allowed the opponent to create attacking opportunities, spending much of the time on the defensive. Although fatigue from the heat began to show, the players continued to play with a strong determination to “definitely win.” Then, finally, the moment of joy arrived. In the 82nd minute, Aihara intercepted a Yokohama FM ball. Kawakami on the right side received it and sent a cross, and Yamagishi, running into the box, headed the ball, which Kishi finally pushed in for the winning goal!! Despite facing a fierce attack from Yokohama FM until the final whistle, the entire team defended resolutely and secured a big victory that stopped their two-game losing streak!!

This match made us feel the weight of Coach Motoyoshi's pre-game words: "Be highly aware of the three seconds after losing possession and the reaction to the second ball." Despite the severe heat, rain, and wind, no matter the conditions, we will not compromise on each play toward victory. We aim to correct the issues revealed here and face the next match against Ichiritsu Funabashi High School.

Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-18 today.
We look forward to your warm support in the next match as well!!
