The opponent for Sec. 1 of the JFA Prince League U-18 Kanto 2010 was Bunan High School. The match started at 11:00 in warm weather.
From the early stages of the match, both teams actively pressed each other. At 5 minutes, Muramatsu made a vertical breakthrough from a pass by Hashimoto and earned a corner kick. Hashimoto took the first shot of the match from the rebound of this corner kick, but it did not hit the target.
At the 9th minute, Muto received a vertical pass from Muramatsu on the left side, cut inside, and took a shot, but this also missed the target.
Tokyo wants to find their attacking rhythm by giving the ball to FW Maeoka, but the opponent’s pressing and quick transitions mean that whenever they have the ball, they are surrounded by two or three players, making it difficult to gain rhythm.
At the 15th minute, Sasaki delivered a close cross from a free kick across the front of the goal, but it just missed Akioka.
At the 25th minute, after winning the ball in midfield, a pass was sent to the breaking Akioka, who continued forward and was fouled while attempting to cut back, earning a penalty kick. Akioka calmly took the penalty himself, scoring the team's first goal in the Prince League.
This is the point where we want to gain momentum, but the opponent's high work rate makes it difficult for us to play our own style of soccer.
At the 36th minute, a gentle pass was sent from Muto on the left side to the center, and Hiroki, who ran in, unleashed a powerful long-range shot, but it was blocked by the crossbar.
In the 38th minute, after a mistake led to losing the ball in their own half, the opponent scored a shot, leveling the score.
Desperate to take the lead, Tokyo in the 40th minute saw Muto break through on the left side and deliver a perfect cross, which Eguchi tried to connect with, but the opposing DF's physical defense prevented the goal.
They continue to aim for the goal, but the first half ends at 1-1.
At halftime, Coach Kuramata strictly told the team to switch quickly, move the ball more, and support each other more as they headed into the second half.
Right after the second half started, from a well-paced passing sequence, Muto took a shot following a through pass from Sasaki, but it missed the target.
At the 48th minute, Muramatsu’s cross to the far side reached Akioka, who sent a shot-like return pass, but no one was able to connect with it.
At the 50th minute, Maeka’s shot was caught by the opposing goalkeeper, and at the 57th minute, Eguchi’s pass from the right was flicked through by Maeka to Akioka. Akioka then made a through pass, but it hit the opposing DF and spilled to Muto, who took a shot but hit the opposing DF.
However, after entering the second half, the team began to use the field more broadly centered around Hashimoto, making it difficult for the opposing DF to focus their defense. Also, with Sasaki actively working up front, the rhythm of the attack started to take shape.
At the 61st minute, Iwaki replaced Eguchi, and at the 67th minute, first-year player Nozawa was brought on for Akioka.
This substitution further created rhythm, and at the 68th minute, Nozawa, who had just come on, took an aggressive long-range shot, but it went off target.
With time running out and nerves starting to show at the 77th minute, Nozawa’s quick restart reached Muramatsu, who delivered a cross. This ball followed a sharp trajectory and was drawn into the goal, securing the much-needed second goal.
At the 85th minute, Okumura was brought on to replace Maeoka.
Then, at the 86th minute, a quick counterattack succeeded. From Nozawa's pass, the ball went from Muramatsu to Muto, and finally, Hashimoto, who had moved up to the front line following the earlier substitution, perfectly headed in Muto's gentle cross to score the valuable third goal.
In stoppage time, Yamaguchi was brought on to replace Hiroki, who had injured his leg, and in the end, everyone put their bodies on the line to hold the defense, securing a hard-fought 3-1 victory in the opening match.
