Commentary

The J Youth Sunstart Tonic Cup Final Tournament 2nd Round match against Mitsubishi Yowa Youth. With 800 spectators watching, the kickoff was at 11:00 a.m. at Fukagawa Ground. In the first 5 minutes of the match, Mita broke through on the right side and took a powerful shot. Although it did not hit the target, Mita demonstrated his characteristic speed.

At the 11th minute, Shigematsu sent a grounded cross from the right side to the center. Right back Hiroki, who had joined the attack, tried to follow up but just missed connecting. Then at the 15th minute, a loose ball in front of the goal was kicked in by the opposing MF, conceding a goal and making the score 0-1.

However, at the 25th minute, Abe crossed from the left side. Shigematsu took a shot from that cross, but it was blocked by the opposing DF, and no goal was scored. After that, a back-and-forth battle continued, with time passing without a decisive moment. The intense contest in midfield was of a high level and very engaging to watch.

The equalizing goal came in the 43rd minute when Shigematsu scored with his left foot from a cross by Umenai on the left side, leveling the score at 1-1. The first half ended with the score tied at 1-1. Early in the second half, at the 48th minute, Yamazaki took a powerful shot from mid-range. Then, in the 50th minute, the go-ahead goal was scored. Defender Matsufuji intercepted the opponent’s ball and passed it to Umenai on the left side. From Umenai, the ball went to Shigematsu in the center. Shigematsu skillfully dribbled past the opponent and scored with a powerful shot. Riding the momentum, the team continued to press the opponent’s goal with shots from Toshi Mori and breakthroughs by Mita.

At the 58th minute, Mita was fouled in front of the opponent's goal, earning a penalty kick. Shigematsu calmly converted the PK, extending the lead to 3-1. However, at the 69th minute, a powerful left-footed shot was fired by an opposing player in front of our own goal. Here, GK Choi made a superb save, deflecting the opponent's shot.

At the 74th minute, Yamaguchi pushed forward near the opponent's goal and it seemed like an additional goal, but the ball was deflected by the post and did not go in. However, at the 85th minute, from a corner kick opportunity, the ball kicked by Abe was perfectly headed by Umenai in the center, scoring a goal. The score became 4-1, securing the victory and advancing to the quarterfinals.
