○ Match Digest
FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi faces Sec. 7 of the Tokyo Youth (U15) Soccer League. Although there was no sunshine, the temperature was high and the field was humid. The match against Kaetsu Ariake Junior High School kicked off at 3:00 p.m.
In the early stages, Tokyo struggled to attack against the opponent who firmly defended in a 4-3-3 formation, but as they got used to the opponent's defense, they gradually approached the goal. At the 7th minute, Tsukada intercepted the opponent's pass and took a looping shot, but it was blocked by the crossbar. Immediately after, Sekikawa made a vertical breakthrough down the left side and crossed the ball, and Shimosugi connected with a header, but it went off target.
However, at the 12th minute, the ball was taken away in midfield, leading to a counterattack. A cross was delivered from the side, but it did not connect with the player who rushed inside. Despite struggling to score, at the 17th minute, a pass was made from the right side to the center, followed by intricate passing. Seiji SATO broke through with a one-two pass with Tsukada and fired a shot just in front of the opposing goalkeeper, scoring the long-awaited opening goal!! Then, at the 18th minute, this time receiving a vertical pass from Shimosugi, Abe played a through pass after a post play. Ito, who sprinted behind the opposing defenders, confidently finished to add another goal!! Tokyo continued attacking, aiming for a third goal, but lacked precision and repeatedly faced counterattacks. However, goalkeeper Hayashizaki repeatedly saved critical chances! At the 22nd minute, the ball was taken away in midfield and a through pass was played. Although the defenders closed in, the attacker broke free and took a shot, but goalkeeper Hayashizaki securely caught it. Furthermore, at the 23rd minute, the ball was lost in their own half, allowing the opponent to break behind the defense and take a free shot, but once again goalkeeper Hayashizaki made a fine save! Although Tokyo controlled the ball, their lack of precision led to continued counterattack situations. However, in stoppage time of the first half, Abe dribbled forward, and Tsukada picked up the ball deflected by the opposing defender, elegantly dodged the opponent with a step, and unleashed a powerful shot for the third goal!! The first half ended with a 3-0 lead.
Just after the start of the second half, a through pass was played behind the DF, but Seiji Sato closely marked and firmly blocked the shot. From the beginning of the second half, Tokyo took the ball with tough defense against opponents pressing toward the goal. Tsukada created a chance in the 38th minute, and Abe did so in the 39th, but neither resulted in a goal. Then, in the 39th minute, a mistake by the DF led to losing the ball, and a free shot was taken from right in front of the goal, but they were saved by the opponent’s shooting error. In the 44th minute, MF Tajimada was brought on to replace MF Sekikawa. Tokyo created chances with aggressive defense transitioning to attack and passing play, but lacked precision and sometimes suffered counters due to mistakes. Aiming for additional goals, in the 57th minute MF Higashikata replaced DF Seiji Sato, in the 59th minute FW Ikiji came on for MF Ito, and in the 60th minute DF Maruyama replaced DF Izumi to pursue more goals. Then, in the 64th minute, Shimosugi received a side change ball and delivered a pinpoint cross. Ikiji, who came on as a substitute, headed it in to score the fourth goal!! Furthermore, in the 65th minute, Abe received a vertical pass, faced forward, and scored the decisive fifth goal with a skillful mid-range shot!! Then, in the 66th minute, from central passing play, Ikiji struck a powerful left-footed shot into the net, sealing the match!! After that, while continuing to aim for goals until the end, Tokyo firmly suppressed the opponent’s attacks, and the match ended 6-0.
In the end, we won 6-0, but it was also a match that made us feel the need to further improve the quality both as a team and individually, including the accuracy of our attacks and our response to counterattacks.
