The semifinal round of the 18th Tokyo Club Youth Soccer U-14 Championship was held amid heavy snowfall.
The condition of the footing was very poor, and the early stages saw struggles with ball control.
With Tamiya's aggressive overlaps and Takada and Kuramoto showing stable defense, Takahashi and Sakamoto gradually got involved with the ball, increasing the number of chances.
At the 17th minute, Akatsuka dribbled through and earned a left corner kick, but it did not result in a goal. At the 20th minute, Koizumi took two consecutive right corner kicks, but neither resulted in a goal.
At the 23rd minute, Tada sent an early cross with his left foot from the right side into the goal area, but it was not converted. Then at the 25th minute, Murakami made a breakthrough on the left side creating a chance, but it did not lead to a goal. Despite wanting one goal, they struggled to score.
At the 31st minute, the right side was broken down by the opponent's breakthrough, but Takada showed excellent covering. Just before the end, there was a dangerous situation from the opponent's through pass, but GK Ishihara cleared it with precise positioning and a timely rush out. The first half ends here.
From the start of the second half, the attack was launched using Sasaki's hold-up play as a base, but they struggled to break down the opponent's DF.
At the 42nd minute, Enomoto and Shinohara were brought on to change the flow of the game. The substitutes Enomoto and Shinohara moved energetically, but the opposing marks did not easily allow them to touch the ball.
As the second half progressed, the snowfall increased.
A difficult period continued for a while, but GK Ishihara, Kuramoto, and Takada prevented any danger.
At the 50th minute, Hane, Yanazono, and Mitsui were brought on. Yanazono, who came on as a substitute, dribbled past opponents and created a chance. Mitsui created a chance with a feed to the front line. GK Hane provided precise coaching to prevent the opponents from entering the penalty area.
At the 60th minute, a painful goal was conceded from an opponent's corner kick. At the 65th minute, Sasaki took a free kick! The ball flew along a wonderful course but unfortunately went just to the right of the post.
After that, we attacked with feeds from Takahashi and Shinohara, and breakaways from Enomoto and Sasaki, but could not score a goal. Despite repeated attacks, it was all in vain and time was up here!
It was a very frustrating defeat. Unfortunately, we did not advance to the Final Round, but we want the team to switch their mindset toward next week's third-place playoff!
And I hope the second-year students will use this as a springboard to achieve even greater growth!
To everyone who loves U-15 Musashi, thank you very much for your warm support today despite the heavy snow!
