Commentary
2009 Season 2nd Round Tokyo Youth League U15 Soccer League Second Half (Kanto Challenge League) 4th Match.
To win this league, there was no choice but to win this crucial match against the league leaders AZ86. Under a cloudy sky with a slightly strong wind, the kickoff was at 4:30 p.m. From the start, U-15 Musashi controlled the ball and advanced with passing, shaking the opponent with side changes. Yoshida, who received the ball on the left side, delivered a well-timed cross, but it just missed Iwata’s head. Conversely, the opponent’s clearance turned into a through pass, catching the defense off guard and causing a tense moment, but no goal was conceded. At 10 minutes, Iguro picked up the second ball and took a middle-range shot, but it hit the opposing defender and flew straight to the opposing goalkeeper. At 25 minutes, Iwata broke free with a one-two pass with Kamoike and shot, but was blocked by the defense. At 29 minutes, from a free kick by the opponent, a high cross was caught by GK Hattori who rushed out. Near the end of the first half, a corner kick chance was just barely denied by the opponent goalkeeper’s punching, failing to score.
At the start of the second half, at the 40th minute, Aki came onto the pitch. The attack gradually gained momentum. At the 41st minute, the ball was passed from a throw-in and Tokuda sent a cross, but it did not connect in the center. Then at the 42nd minute, a dangerous situation arose when the opponent sent a lobbed ball from a free kick to the center, but they were saved by a missed shot. At the 46th minute, the ball was passed from Kamoike to Iwata, who aimed a cross from the right side, but it was blocked by a physically strong opposing DF. At the 47th minute, Aki received the ball deep on the right side, dribbled past the opposing DF, and took a shot with his left foot. However, this was saved by the opposing goalkeeper. At this point, Ishizuka came onto the pitch. At the 52nd minute, Aki became the starting point, and Aoki overlapped and sent a cross. A player ran to connect on the far side but was cleared by the DF just a moment too early. At the 55th minute, Tokuda sent a long ball to the front of the goal from a free kick chance, and it stretched and hit the crossbar. At the 61st minute, a cross was sent from an opponent’s free kick; it was cleared once, but the rebound was picked up by the opponent, who made a direct pass behind the DF line. This created a decisive one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, which was converted, resulting in a painful goal conceded. At this point, U-15 Musashi had no choice but to score two goals, so Miura and Kim came onto the pitch. They headed toward the goal without giving up until the end. In stoppage time, there was a free kick chance directly in front of the goal. Miura aimed directly, and the kicked ball seemed to have gone over the wall and in, but it was prevented by the opponent goalkeeper’s excellent reaction. This was the last big chance, and the final whistle blew. At that moment, AZ86’s championship was decided.
On November 7th, the Prince Takamado Cup Kanto Tournament will begin. In order to advance to the national tournament, each player must learn something from this defeat, and the team must prepare thoroughly over the next week to be able to fight as one.
