Commentary
The opponent for the 2nd match of the 2009 Tokyo Youth League U15 Soccer League Second Half (Kanto Challenge League) was Jepha. Under a pleasant clear sky, the match started at 16:30 at dusk. The first chance came in the 6th minute. Yoshida, who had the ball on the left side, cut back and sent a cross with his right foot, which Iwata met with a header to score the opening goal. Immediately after, the opponents pushed up to the goal, creating a dangerous situation, but the DF line defended with their bodies to protect the goal. In the 9th minute, a through pass was played behind the DF, creating another dangerous scene, but Asano chased all the way and applied pressure, forcing the shot wide of the target. At 15 minutes, during a corner kick threat, the opponents aimed directly for goal, but goalkeeper Hattori calmly punched the ball clear to the opposite side.
However, in the 17th minute, despite repeatedly being targeted behind the DF and barely holding on, a through pass was played early from the side behind the DF line, leading to conceding a goal and being equalized. Although facing many dangerous situations, the team held firm without conceding any additional goals and went into halftime.
At halftime, Higashimura, Kamoike, Aoki, and Aki were all substituted onto the pitch simultaneously. At the 40th minute, Iwata attempted a volley on a ball dropped by Kamoike, but it went over the bar. Gradually, the team began to find their rhythm, but the goal was still far away. At the 57th minute, Aki received a pass from Ishizuka on a counterattack, broke through the side, and delivered a sharp cross, but it was cleared by the opposing DF. Then again at the 60th minute, Aki made a move from the side and sent in a cross. Iwata tried to flick it on and push it into the crowded area, but the DF cleared it first. At the 62nd minute, Iwata connected with a cross from Yoshida but couldn’t properly control the ball. Furthermore, at the 63rd minute, a dribble down the right side led to a shot, but it went into the outer side netting. With only a little time left, Kin came onto the pitch. Even with the last free-kick opportunity, they couldn’t push the ball into the goal, and the final whistle blew to end the match.
After playing 2 matches so far, we have 2 points. We want to give our all to challenge ourselves and earn 3 points in the next match.
