Commentary

The opponent in the first match of the second league of the 2009 17th Tokyo Club Youth Soccer U-14 Championship was Teikyo FC. The match kicked off at 5:30 p.m. at Komazawa Second Ball Game Field. Two minutes after the start, Kobayashi received a pass from Wakasa, broke through the right side, cut in along the line, and sent a final pass, but it did not connect. Conversely, on the opponent's counterattack from their right side, a grounded cross was met but went outside the frame. The match proceeded with a slight advantage, creating several chances but failing to convert them. Then, at 15 minutes, they faced a major crisis. A through pass broke through the center, leading to a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, but GK Okamoto’s exquisite rush put pressure on the opposing FW, and the shot fired went outside the frame, avoiding danger. Near the end of the first half, the opponent pressed hard, and a difficult period continued, but they endured without losing concentration.

From the start of the second half, although the opponent launched sharp counterattacks and shots, Misawa threw his body to block the shots and Yanagisawa's covering prevented any goals. Conversely, at the 36th minute, Takayama received a pass from Kobayashi's dribble but missed control and couldn't take a shot. After that, it was difficult to get shots on target, and there was a period when Teikyo FC pressed hard, creating dangerous moments, but the team held on until the very end. In the last 5 minutes, they gained momentum and approached the opponent's goal. At the 65th minute, Gokatsuide and Enokido were brought onto the pitch aiming to score. Misawa overlapped on the right side and sent in a cross, which Yajima controlled with his chest and shot immediately while turning around. Unfortunately, the shot went just to the right of the post. At the 59th minute, Gokatsuide quickly reacted to a second ball and took a powerful long-range shot, but it went just left of the post. It seemed the match would end like this, but in stoppage time, with a free-kick opportunity, the whole team launched an attack. Misawa picked up the loose ball and sent a floating pass to Takayama. Takayama headed it back, and Yajima, making a third-man run behind the defensive line, received it at his feet. Calmly watching the opponent goalkeeper's movement, Yajima kicked the ball into the goal, scoring a dramatic goal. The final whistle blew immediately after, and the team managed to secure the victory. Thank you very much for all your support today. We will continue to fight as a team aiming for victory in the next match.
