Commentary

The first match of the first half of the 2009 2nd Tokyo Youth (U-15) Soccer League was against Mitsubishi Yowa Chofu Junior Youth. Although it was warm during the day, it got a bit chilly by the 16:00 kickoff.
In the early stages, passes connected but it was difficult to create decisive chances, and time passed. At 15 minutes, there were two consecutive corner kicks, but the shots did not hit the target. Desperate for the opening goal, U-15 Musashi pushed defensive midfielder Iwata forward at 18 minutes. At 25 minutes, Miura and Ishizuka switched positions to energize the attack. Then at 29 minutes, from a short corner, Iwata scored the long-awaited opening goal with a header from a ball by Takei. The first half ended with a good timing goal.

U-15 Musashi continued to attack aiming for additional goals in the second half, and at the 40th minute, Iwata connected with a header again from a short corner, but it went straight to the opposing goalkeeper. Then at the 41st minute, following a breakthrough by Yoshida on the left side, the ball was combined centrally and consecutive shots were attempted, but they were blocked by the opposing goalkeeper’s excellent saves and the resilient defense, resulting in no goals. However, at the 47th minute, from a free kick, Iwata headed the ball on, which Yoshida picked up and dribbled past the opposing defenders to slot it into the goal, scoring the second goal. After that, they boldly pressed towards the opponent’s goal but could not score again.

The opponent also made good use of their substitutes to launch a counterattack. In the 64th minute, from Sugaya to Yoshida. Iguro let the ball pass through to the center where Iwata finished to score the third goal. We were able to score from a flowing attack. After that, the players who came on as substitutes continued to boldly aim for goals, but the final whistle blew. We were able to win the opening match 3-0. We want to aim for victory together again next time.
