Commentary

Tokyo Club Youth U-14 Championship Final Tournament 2nd Round. The opponent was YOKOGAWA MUSASHINO FC Junior Youth. In the chilly, windy weather, the match kicked off at 6:15 p.m. at Komazawa Second Ball Game Field. At kickoff, U-15 Musashi applied aggressive pressure, trying to seize the rhythm with long balls utilizing Iwata’s height and speed behind the opponent’s DF. At the 4th minute, Takei stole the ball from a loose ball after Iguro’s press up front and passed it to Kan advancing from the left side. Kan dribbled past one defender and took a shot, but it missed the target. Then, at the 5th minute, Iwata reacted to a ball played behind the DF. From near the halfway line, he dodged the opposing DF and entered the penalty area with a speed-driven dribble. His right-footed shot was drawn into the left corner of the goal, scoring an early lead. At the 9th minute, Amos Buzo broke through the right side and crossed to Kan waiting in the center, but the shot went straight to the goalkeeper. After that, Musashi continued to target behind the YOKOGAWA DF with Iwata as the focal point up front, but the opponent gradually gained control of the ball, and the first half ended with a back-and-forth battle.

In the second half, U-15 Musashi calmly controlled the ball. At the 35th minute, Kojima overlapped on the right side and delivered a cross. Takei connected in the center of the goal, but the shot was weak and went straight to the GK. At the 44th minute, in a scramble in front of the opponent’s goal, Iwata tried to connect with his left foot but couldn’t make proper contact with the ball. At the 50th minute, the ball was lost in midfield, and a shot was taken from a cross on the right side, but GK Higashimura securely caught it. At the 51st minute, they conceded a free kick, but once again GK Higashimura caught the ball straight on. After that, for the remaining 10 minutes, Yokogawa pressed forward, creating some dangerous moments, but the back line, centered on Tokuda, stayed focused until the final whistle. They managed to secure a 1-0 victory. The next opponent is Tokyo Verdy. U-15 Musashi wants to fully demonstrate their strength and connect it to a win.
