○Match Digest
The second half of the Kanto U-15 League began this week. At the home Fukagawa Ground, we faced Kashima Antlers FC Junior Youth, who had defeated us in Sec. 1. The match kicked off at 2:00 p.m. under clear skies.

From the start, the opponent’s relentless attack took control of the game. At the 5th minute, a foul led to a free kick. From this free kick, a header shot was barely deflected out by GK Matsushima with his fingertips. Tokyo found themselves on the defensive against the opponent’s decisive attacks and were unable to mount their own offense. At the 10th minute, another foul in their own half resulted in a direct free kick shot, but they defended solidly, led by GK Matsushima. However, from the corner kick given by this defense, they lost their mark and conceded a goal. The score became 0-1. Wanting to counterattack, at the 13th minute, Hishiyama broke through on a counterattack following the opponent’s free kick defense, but it did not lead to a clear chance. They then conceded a second goal directly from the opponent’s free kick. However, at the 35th minute, although a cross ball was cleared, they firmly recovered it in midfield, connecting from Yazaki to Okuma, and then to Hishiyama, who struck sharply with his left foot!! They scored a goal, igniting the counterattack, and went into halftime trailing 1-2.

At halftime, Coach Okuhara fired up the team by asking, "What made this game difficult?" The players thoroughly confirmed this among themselves and headed back onto the pitch for the second half.

From the start of the second half, Tokyo increased their activity starting from the flanks and began to seize the pace. The opposing team also stuck to their style of play, and both sides continued with unyielding efforts, showing their determination to win. At the 60th minute, Suzuki came on for Oikawa, and at the 68th minute, Nomura replaced Koike. At the 75th minute, Ito, starting for the first time in a while, headed in a free kick to the far side, leveling the score!! Afterwards, at the 76th and 77th minutes, Hishiyama and Watanabe had chances from free kicks but could not convert. Just when it seemed the game would end in a draw, at the 79th minute, a foul led to a penalty kick, which was scored, resulting in a 2-3 deficit. The match ended with that score.

The second half has started, and in order to secure a spot in the Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship, we must fight aiming higher. Today's match was one we could not afford to lose, but it ended in a regrettable defeat. Including the preparations for the match, we want to thoroughly review and connect this experience to the next game.

Thank you very much for your warm support for FC Tokyo U-15 Fukagawa today as well.
We kindly ask for your continued support in the future.
