○ Match Digest
The opponent in the 2nd Round of the 23rd Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship is Júbilo Iwata, the representative from Tokai.
We want to approach the match with the momentum from the come-from-behind victory in the 1st Round.
The match was moved to the same venue as yesterday: Shimabara City Heisei Town Multipurpose Sports Ground, Pitch A, and kicked off at 11:00 under warm sunlight.
Tokyo wants to carefully connect passes and launch attacks while being cautious of quick feeds to the opponent’s center forward.
However, at 4 minutes into the game, the ball was brought in front of the goal and a shot was taken. It went wide to the left of the goal, causing a moment of alarm.
In the early stages, because the distance for connecting the recovered ball was short, pressure was immediately applied and the ball was lost. As they gradually began to move the ball, at 11 minutes, after a pass exchange on the right side through Hirayama to Sawai on the left side, Sawai crossed to Yamagishi in the center. However, the opposing DF anticipated it and cleared the ball. Okuma reacted to the rebound and immediately took a shot, but it was blocked by the opposing DF, unable to break through the goalmouth.
At the 15th minute, they faced a crisis. A shot was taken right in front of the goal, creating a near-dangerous situation, but GK Ito calmly caught it.
From here, while defending with physical commitment to block the opponent's attacks, they gradually began to move the ball in their own rhythm.
As the back-and-forth battle continued, at the 27th minute, they were caught off guard for a moment and a long-range shot was taken, which was swallowed by the goal, conceding the opening goal and a setback.
However, Tokyo pressed on undeterred by the conceded goal.
Immediately after, they approached the opponent’s goal with consecutive crosses from the left and right. Unfortunately, the opposing DF blocked with their body, preventing a goal.
Tokyo continued to create chances by utilizing side changes and long balls. However, just one step short, they couldn't get a shot past the wall of the opposing DF.
Then, just before the end of the first half at the 39th minute, a loose ball from a corner kick was powerfully struck in, making it 0-2. The first half ended 0-2.
The same 0-2 scoreline at halftime as in yesterday's 1st Round. However, Tokyo also possesses the mental strength to come back from a 2-goal deficit and score 5 goals.
From the second half, Hasukawa was brought on, aiming for a comeback as they approached the second half.
Right after the start of the second half, the opponent launched a shot following a relentless dribble breakthrough. Here, GK Ito made a fine save!
Tokyo, eager to score and close in on the opponent, continues to launch consecutive attacks.
Afterwards, they began moving the ball with a good rhythm, and finally Yamagishi on the right side delivered a cross, but it was caught by the opposing goalkeeper.
At the 50th minute, Hasukawa, who rushed out to a long ball from Onishi, became the starting point and created a chance from the subsequent throw-in, but this too was blocked by the opposing defender, preventing a shot.
At the 55th minute, Hasukawa connected with a header from a free kick on the left side, but unfortunately, it went over the crossbar. At the 56th minute, Hasukawa's pressure forced the opponent into a passing error, which Horikawa capitalized on by spotting the opposing GK rushing out and unleashing a curved long-range shot; however, the opposing GK managed to recover just in time to make the save.
Immediately after this, Watanabe Ryu, who received a pass from Hasukawa, took a shot, but it was deflected by the opposing GK.
From a chance to a sudden crisis. The opponent created chances and launched a series of attacks. Here, the defense centered on GK Ito and the crossbar helped prevent a goal.
At the 64th minute, Fukumori was brought on to replace Sawai. The formation shifted with Yazaki moving up to SH and Fukumori entering at SB.
At the 67th minute, Motofuji was brought on to replace Horikawa. This was to further energize the attack.
However, at the 71st minute, a pass mistake in their own half led to the ball being taken and slotted into the goal, making it 0-3.
Tokyo never gives up even when pushed into a corner. In the 74th minute, Suzuki and in the 75th minute, Hirata were sent onto the pitch aiming to score.
Suzuki, who came on as a substitute, launched dribbles from the left side, creating multiple chances.
However, when they pushed forward, they were caught out and conceded from a cross in the 79th minute, making it 0-4.
Although the situation was tough, the Tokyo Eleven kept running toward the goal.
Even in the final moments, Honda on the right side boldly tried to break through with dribbling.
Everyone kept the determination to score at least one goal until the very end, pressing toward the opponent’s goal, but they were unable to score and time mercilessly ran out.
The 2011 official matches, including the Takamado Trophy which was the final official match of the third-year junior high school students' school life, have now ended. However, the spirit of all players, including those who were not selected for the team, uniting as one and aiming for victory until the very end will surely become a strength for each of them. We look forward to their further growth from now on.
Thank you for your warm support today as well. Thank you for the past year.
