Implementation Details

1.Food Drive

This is an initiative to deliver food to those in need with the cooperation of the local community. Donated food will be delivered to local welfare organizations and those in need through the specified nonprofit organization Food Bank Chofu.

□ Foods Requested for Donation

・Unopened foods with a shelf life of more than 2 months
・Rice and noodles
・Canned foods
・Cup noodles, instant soup
・Retort food (curry, pasta sauce, etc.)
・Seasonings such as noodle broth and soy sauce
・Snacks, vegetable juice, and other beverages

□ Foods that cannot be accepted

・Opened items ・Fresh foods
・Alcoholic beverages
・Supplements
・Refrigerated and Frozen Foods

2. Book Drive

This initiative collects finished books and connects them to employment support for people with disabilities.
This initiative collaborates with the General Incorporated Association Working Barrier-Free, and the collected books are primarily inspected, listed, and shipped by people with disabilities.
Additionally, this is a sustainable initiative that contributes to reducing environmental impact through the reuse of books.
Furthermore, this initiative utilizes the “Jobbon” system, where donating books creates “jobs” for people with disabilities and leads to opportunities for social participation.

□ Eligible Books

・Hardcover books, paperbacks, etc. (any type)
・Books with an ISBN code (barcode) on the back *Books with writing or stains are also accepted

□ What is Jobbon?

Finished books turn into someone’s “job” and “pride.” Jobbon is a coined term combining “JOB” and “book,” and it is an activity that supports employment for people with disabilities through the reuse of books. Books collected locally are refurbished at local employment support facilities for people with disabilities and sold online. The proceeds become wages (compensation) for the working people with disabilities.
