○Match Digest
U-15 Fukagawa advanced as the top team from the 2nd League of the 19th Tokyo Club Youth Soccer U-14 Championship to the Final Round.
Therefore, they started from the 3rd Round, facing Mitsubishi Yowa SC Chofu Junior Youth as their opponent.
In 2012, this match, which was the first official game of the season, kicked off at 17:10 at the Mitsubishi Yowa Chofu Ground.
In the early stages, due to the tension of it being the first official match in a while, the team struggled to effectively penetrate the opponent's block, failing to advance the ball forward or create shooting opportunities.
Meanwhile, the opponent retreated and created chances from counters at the 7th and 9th minutes, but did not allow any clear scoring opportunities.
Still, without rushing, Fukagawa moved the ball while looking for chances, gradually taking the initiative in the game by launching attacks such as long balls behind the defense from Nomura to Yanagi.
Finally, the deadlock was broken at the 20th minute. Okuma's direct free kick was parried by the opposing GK, but Yanagi pushed it in to score the long-awaited opening goal!!
Riding the momentum from this goal, Tokyo launched an even stronger attack. At the 27th minute, Takuya Watanabe broke through on the right side and delivered a low cross. Okuma connected with it!! Scoring an additional goal, they took a 2-0 lead and ended the first half on a good note.
At halftime, the coach said, "Even with a 2-0 lead, we stay the same. Whether in good times or bad, minimize the ups and downs. That is the mentality of a strong team," and the second half began.
At the start of the second half, Ito replaced Oikawa, and Koike came on for Kawano.
From the start of the second half, the opponent completely changed from the first half. They applied pressure from the front line, making it difficult to score. At the 41st minute free kick, GK Matsushima rushed out and cleared with a punch. At the 45th minute, the opponent's forward and GK Matsushima faced a one-on-one situation, but he closed in firmly, stretched out his leg, and made a fine save! He did not allow them to catch up.
At the 57th minute, Hishiyama was brought on for Jogataki.
However, immediately after that, a goal was conceded. It was a situation someone should have noticed, but the opponent’s FW found space free between the SB and CB.
Tokyo seemed unsettled, but a sharp vertical pass from DF Nomura reached Hishiyama, who used a one-two to evade the opponent and calmly slotted in a huge, huge third goal!!
At the 62nd minute, Fukuda came on for Yazaki, and at the 67th minute, Fukami replaced Yanagi. The opponent's fierce attack continued until the end, but we somehow held on and the match ended 3-1.
There were challenges in how to break down an opponent with strong defensive awareness, as well as in risk management while maintaining possession, but overcoming the first match of the season was significant.
U-15 Fukagawa, who won last year's Tokyo Club Youth Championship U-13 tournament. If they win the U-14 tournament in this competition, they will achieve consecutive victories in the Tokyo Club Youth Championship.
As a team and as individuals, we want to face our challenges, improve our level, and connect this to the next game.
