●Match Digest
Prince Takamado Trophy U-18 Soccer League 2011 Premier League Sec. 15 vs Shizuoka Gakuen High School.
Before the match, it was positioned as "a few very important matches in the history of FC Tokyo's youth" (Coach Kuramata), a must-win battle to remain in the Premier League next season.
Welcomed the 2011 Inter-High runner-up team to Fukagawa Ground for kickoff.

In the early stages, contrary to both teams' specialty in passing soccer, the game started with both sides exchanging long balls.
2 minutes: Ishihara, with solid physical pressure and focused defense, did not allow the opponent's long balls to pass easily. He repeatedly cleared balls kicked behind Tokyo's defensive line.
4min: Conversely, the opposing DF mishandled a long feed aimed behind their own defense, and Hashimoto, who was closing in, intercepted. He kept possession by dribbling and passed to Muramatsu, who had advanced. Then, he sent the ball to Yamaguchi, who was running into the center, and took a middle-distance shot from outside the area! The powerful shot was blocked by the opposing DF, so the chance was lost. The first opportunity was created through long balls and quick passing.
6 min: Lost the ball on the side, connected through the center, and conceded a goal. Allowed a score on the first quick counterattack, 0-1.
9 min: Exploiting the gap behind the opposing defenders who were wary of long balls, Nozawa received the ball freely at the defensive midfield position. From his wide field of vision, he sent a long pass to Fukumori on the right side! Fukumori, receiving the ball, went one-on-one on the flank. With a sharp cutback, he cut inside toward the center and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot! The ball seemed destined to be sucked into the goal with a sharp trajectory, but the goalkeeper touched it with his fingertips, and it struck the post! Unfortunately, it was not a goal. Nihei picked up the rebound and aimed a middle-distance shot, but it was blocked.
13 minutes: A sharp pass from Kobayashi in the back line to Nihei on the left side. Receiving the ball free, he boldly broke through with a dribble. Dodging opponents, he carried the ball from the side to the center, and after confirming the opponent's marking was light, he took a long shot from a somewhat distant position! It was a wonderful shot with a powerful trajectory, but the course was weak and was blocked by the goalkeeper.
From here, the opponent controlled the ball. However, Tokyo's coordinated defense from the front line hardly allowed any clear scoring chances.
25 minutes: Hashimoto received the ball on the left side and forcefully dribbled past the opposing defender while dragging him along. He passed the ball to Muramatsu, who came to support, and a cross was sent in but was cleared by the center back. Yamaguchi picked up the loose ball and dribbled but was fouled, earning a free kick. Although it was from a bit of a distance, Nihei boldly went for a direct shot. However, it did not hit the target, and the chance was lost.
38 min: The ball is passed to Muramatsu on the left side, where the opponent's marking is a bit lax, allowing him to dribble deep into the opponent's territory. Although the ball is cut by the opposing DF and spills loose, Nihei picks it up and uses his specialty dribbling to cut inside centrally, shaking off the opposing DF with speed and taking a shot! However, he misses contact and the ball goes wide to the left of the goal.
42 min: Nihei dropped back to a low position and made a brilliant defensive interception! He then went on a solo dribble for about 50 meters! Bringing the ball to the center, the opposing DF couldn't keep up with his speed, leaving him free to shoot! However, this shot also didn't connect perfectly and went straight to the GK.
44': Hashimoto made an excellent defensive play from the front. Lins quickly picked up the loose ball and passed it to Reioka, who had moved into a post play position, but was fouled, earning a free kick. Reioka immediately restarted and played a through pass to Muramatsu, who was overlapping on the left side! From here, a cross was sent in, aiming for Nozawa in the center, but the defender stretched out just in time to clear it.
The following corner kick was also cleared, but once again. Hashimoto met Nihei's ball from the opposite right side with a perfect header, but the opposing GK made a great save and cleared it.
The whistle blows to end the first half here.

They hardly allowed any decisive chances, and on the contrary created many opportunities themselves, but failed to convert as the first half ended.

Heading into the second half, the eleven confirmed to believe in themselves and their teammates, and to actively push forward while encouraging each other.
Substitution: Shunya Kobayashi replaced by Shunji Gokatsuide.

Maintaining the momentum from the end of the first half, they launched a relentless attack from the start of the second half.
48': The ball is passed from midfielder Nozawa to Muramatsu on the left side. Muramatsu breaks free with a one-two pass with Nihei, who came to receive the ball, and sends a quick ball to the center. Reioka reacts to this ball and attempts a sliding shot, but unfortunately it goes wide to the left.
50 minutes: A quick switch from Muramatsu on the left side through Nozawa in midfield to Fukumori on the right side. Fukumori, receiving the ball, quickly turns after trapping it, shakes off the opposing defender, and takes a powerful shot! However, it goes well wide of the target.
53 min: Nozawa, while off balance, connects the ball to Nihei who is charging up the left side. Nihei dribbles the ball up to the front of the goal and delivers a final pass to Yamaguchi, who is running free! Marking on Yamaguchi is lax, and although a bit far, he boldly takes a middle-range shot! Unfortunately, the shot goes just over the bar.
54': Reioka, receiving the ball in the vital area, holds it firmly with his body. He connects to Nozawa, and the ball reaches Nihei in front of the goal, but unfortunately they fail to bring it to a finish.
55': After the opponent quickly counterattacks following a ball recovery, Aoki swiftly chases down and takes the ball from the opponent, and Gokatsu clears it. Aoki's quick transition between offense and defense is a great play that quickly snuffs out the opponent's attack.
56': Tani's powerful goal kick was controlled by Reioka, who then played a through pass to Nozawa. However, the opposing goalkeeper reacted and caught the ball. Tokyo launched quick attacks with few passes, but the opposing defenders stayed focused and responded well. Despite creating many chances, the game continued with the defense holding firm at the crucial moments.
63 minutes: Kishi was brought on to replace Hiyoka. Additionally, Kawakami was brought on to replace Nihei.
64 minutes: From Nihei on the left side, a large side change to Hashimoto, who was free on the right side. Hashimoto skillfully kept possession and returned a pass to Nihei, who came running to support! However, Nihei was then fouled, earning a free kick.
Kawakami's free kick from the right side aimed directly at the near post with a powerful trajectory but unfortunately went just wide into the side netting.
67 minutes: Saito was brought on to replace Fukumori.
76 minutes: With good combination play in midfield, Saito ran into the open space on the right side and received the ball. He dribbled past along the sideline and passed to Yamaguchi in the center. Yamaguchi immediately sent the ball in front of the goal, and from Kawakami's hold-up play, Hashimoto took a shot! Despite the excellent shooting position, the shot was desperately blocked by the opposing defender.
Kishi, who rushed to the loose ball, took a direct shot! However, unfortunately, he couldn't hit the target.
82 minutes: Aoki's advancing space was skillfully exploited, creating a dangerous situation. However, the opponent's shot was brilliantly saved by goalkeeper Tani's spirited fine save, preventing an additional goal.
84 min: Yuasa was brought on to replace Nozawa as Tokyo aimed for an equalizer until the end.
They continued to attempt wide plays with side changes and counters, but were repelled by the opponent's tight defense, and the match ended as is.

Although they struggled to attack at the start, Tokyo was able to make adjustments during the match by communicating among the players.
Although they launched a variety of attacks from solid defense, they lacked finishing accuracy and could not convert.
By utilizing the issues identified today, the team is now in a situation where they cannot afford to drop points in order to remain in the Premier League.
I hope they secure points in the remaining three matches with the never-give-up attitude they showed in the second half.
Thank you very much for your enthusiastic support today as well.
