[7/13 Update] "Blue and Red Drill (Exercise Drill)" distributed to public elementary schools in Tokyo
[Updated on 7/13]
A class utilizing the "Aoa Drill" created at Fuchu City Wakamatsu Elementary School has been conducted, and the implementation report has been added.
We have recently implemented a class using the "Blue and Red Drill" created at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City as part of our efforts to create opportunities for children to enjoy physical activity and increase the number of children who find sports enjoyable.
On the day, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, thorough infection control measures were implemented, including disinfection, staff wearing masks, and avoiding physical contact in the program content, ensuring the safety of the children during the implementation.
Children challenge themselves in various movements, referring to the examples and advice of Ishikawa CC and the coaches of the Promotion Department, with a drill in one hand.
Even if it didn't go well, I kept challenging myself over and over again without giving up!!
At the end of the class, Ishikawa CC delivered a message to the children, saying, "Please use this drill at home or during breaks to challenge various movements together with your friends and family."
Please, challenge this drill a lot and I hope many children can feel "enjoying moving their bodies".
FC Tokyo will continue to promote the spread of soccer and sports, including utilizing drills in classes.
Thank you, everyone at Wakamatsu Elementary School in Fuchu City.
This time, FC Tokyo has created the "Aoaaka Drill (Exercise Drill)" focusing on improving children's "physical strength" and "opportunities to enjoy sports".

At FC Tokyo, we have been conducting various soccer and sports promotion activities in addition to soccer classes and schools in order to make children feel the joy of playing sports and moving their bodies together with their friends. These activities include the "Caravan Team," where coaches visit elementary schools and engage in activities with children, teacher training in collaboration with the Board of Education, and school visits by players' association. We have been working together with schools to promote and engage in various soccer and sports activities.
In the midst of such efforts, we have been considering "improving children's physical fitness" and "reducing the number of children who dislike or are not good at sports", and furthermore, "what kind of initiatives can be taken to nurture the hearts and bodies of children through sports and physical education classes".
Therefore, this time, we have created a "physical exercise drill" called "Aoaka Drill" with the aim of increasing children's opportunities to enjoy sports and exercise in physical education classes at school and in their daily lives, and acquiring basic abilities to enjoy lifelong health and sports through various physical experiences in early childhood.

The creation of drills was initiated by the club with the intention of providing children with the opportunity to move their bodies indoors during the period of restrictions on going out due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. We have produced "exercise drills" in collaboration with the local board of education, while considering the utilization in the area of "creating various movements through physical play" in the curriculum guidelines.
The content is designed to allow children to experience various movements that form the basis of learning in the so-called "Golden Age" of upper elementary school years, with the aim of making it enjoyable. It is conscious of connecting to "games" and "ball sports" in the upper elementary school years by utilizing the children's own efforts and "balls".
The created drills will be distributed free of charge to approximately 10,400 first-grade students in six municipalities in Tokyo, and will be used as supplementary teaching materials to support their lessons.
The materials will be distributed to each school starting from early July, in order.
Furthermore, in the future, we will collaborate with elementary schools and boards of education that are utilizing the "Aoaka Drill," and coaches from the FC Tokyo Promotion Department will visit schools to conduct lessons using the drills and engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing children's opportunities for physical education and sports.
