We sincerely thank you for your continued support and encouragement of FC Tokyo.
We would like to inform you that we have decided to fully refund the 2020 season annual tickets.

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection, the resumption of the season is still uncertain, and we deeply apologize for the concern and inconvenience caused. Under these circumstances, we have been carefully considering how to handle the annual tickets. Even if the season resumes, there is a high possibility that matches will be held without spectators, with restricted seating arrangements due to limits on the number of attendees, restrictions on cheering, and at different stadiums, resulting in conditions that differ from normal match viewing. Therefore, we have determined that we cannot provide the rights and services originally planned for SOCIO members as before. Additionally, considering that many people feel uneasy about watching matches at the stadium, we have decided to offer a full refund of the annual ticket fees.

Revenue from season tickets is a very important source of income for club management, and this decision was a difficult management judgment amid the uncertain outlook for the club's operations. In this unprecedented global situation, the players and all staff involved with the club deeply feel how painful it is not to be able to play soccer on the pitch as usual. We believe that the SOCIO members who have walked with us so far feel the same. Although this season cannot be spent as usual, we have made this decision out of a strong desire to sincerely engage with SOCIO members and to continue walking together with them.
We will overcome the 2020 season together with all SOCIO members and continue to strive to be a "strong and beloved team," so we sincerely ask for your continued support and cheers.

The specific refund method is currently under consideration, and we will provide detailed information on the refund process and begin the refund procedures at a later date.
Please check the details decided at this point below.
Please note that it is not necessary to return the set of season tickets that have already been sent. Also, you can continue to use benefits such as advance sales and member pricing for home games, logging into My Page, and recording attendance with your SOCIO card. For details, please refer to the section "About Various Benefits" below.

□ Eligible for Refund
All those who purchased (and paid for) the "2020 Season Ticket"

□ About Declining Refunds
Under these circumstances, some people have expressed their intention to decline the refund. Therefore, we have set up an application form. Please submit your request to decline the refund via the form below by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 24.

Declining the refund is considered a donation to the club and is made out of the customer's goodwill. Since opinions about the club and individual circumstances vary, we kindly ask only those who agree to apply.

Regarding the waiver of refunds, we have added the following in response to frequently asked questions and requests.
If you wish to cancel your waiver of refund, please contact us at socio@fctokyo.co.jp.

Q1. If I decline the refund, can I enter future matches with my SOCIO card?
A1. When the league resumes and there are matches you can attend, regardless of whether you declined the refund or not, for the 2020 season, all SOCIO members will need to purchase tickets each time and enter the venue with those tickets.

Q2. If I decline the refund, will there be any preferential treatment such as receiving merchandise gifts or priority access to tickets for future matches? I want to be able to attend future matches since I am declining the refund.
A2. We do not plan to provide any preferential treatment to those who decline the refund. Due to the various circumstances people are facing during this COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to treat all SOCIO members equally without distinction between those who decline and those who do not. Therefore, the club does not intend to imply any recommendation to decline by offering preferential treatment, and we believe it would contradict our decision if some people were able to receive benefits while others could not due to their circumstances.
Also, even if the environment allows you to watch the matches, the conditions for holding the events, such as restrictions on the number of attendees, are currently undecided, and we cannot guarantee at this time how many seats can be secured. We would greatly appreciate your understanding.

Q3. Is it possible to refund on a per-match basis or partially refund the annual season ticket fee instead of the full amount?
A3. Refunds are limited to the full amount of the annual season ticket fee only. We are very grateful for your willingness to "give something back to the club," and we hope you can consider the option to decline the refund as one such means. From the club’s perspective, not only this matter but also receiving a full refund and then purchasing uniforms, goods, joining as a club support member, or buying tickets and attending matches after the league resumes are all very valuable sources of income. Since everyone has different ways of supporting the club, if you find a method you agree with, we would appreciate it if you could support us within your means.

Q4. Since the future outlook is uncertain, if I do not apply to waive the refund by 11:59 p.m. on May 24 (Sun), will I no longer be able to waive the refund afterward?
A4. After the deadline for refund waiver applications, once preparations are complete, we will send guidance regarding the procedures to those who will receive refunds. At that time, if you contact the club to inform us that you wish to waive the refund without completing the refund procedure, we will treat it as a refund waiver. However, due to administrative procedures related to refunds, we would appreciate it if you could apply by the deadline on the 24th (Sun) as much as possible.

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, a new system has been established whereby those who choose not to receive a refund for their tickets (decline the refund) can have that amount regarded as a "donation" and receive tax benefits (donation deductions).
We are also proceeding with the procedures to enable this system to be applied to FC Tokyo’s season tickets. We will inform you of the details as soon as they are decided.
