○Match Digest
Sec. 13 Tokyo Club Youth Soccer U-17 Championship Final Round, the 2nd match against FC Toripletta Youth.
The sky is clear, but the wind is quite strong and it is cold at the Tokyo Gas Musashino-En Multipurpose Ground.
On this day, with the top team having two training sessions in the morning and afternoon, a large crowd gathered, and the match kicked off at 1:00 p.m.

As the coach reflected, "In the first half, playing against the wind, passes didn’t connect and accurate play was not possible," resulting in a frustrating sequence of events.
Tokyo takes control and launches attacks from the start, trying to break down the opponent and seize as many chances as possible. Due to the strong wind, they struggle to get used to air balls and just miss the decisive strike.
At 1 minute in, Nozawa and Kishi combine with a one-two dribble. Receiving the return pass, Nozawa passes to Kawakami, who takes Tokyo's first shot, but it rebounds off the crossbar.
At the 3rd minute, Kawakami intercepted the opponent's throw-in ball. He sent a through pass to Kishi up front and connected to Saito, but the opponent's defender took the ball away. Here, Saito recovered the ball but unfortunately could not carry it through to a finish.
At the 8th minute, Yoshida on the left side of the back line surged forward and connected to Nihei. Nihei made a quick turn and dribbled through the center, then took a shot, but it mercilessly bounced off the crossbar. Then, at the 12th minute, Tokyo's attack quickly bore fruit.
Saito cut in from the left side and passed the ball to Kishi. From Kishi, the ball was sent to Fukumori, who ran into the space on the right side of the goal and unleashed a powerful shot, but the opposing GK desperately cleared it.
After regrouping from a corner kick, they launched an attack. Finally, Aoki sent the ball to Saito, who had moved up close to the goal, and Saito struck brilliantly!! Scoring the opening goal!!
However, they were caught off guard for a moment and conceded a goal. At the 18th minute, the opponent intercepted the ball while controlling it on their left side in their own half, resulting in a goal. The score was tied.
The wind also began to favor the opponent. The ball bounced high due to the strong wind, nearly leading to a goal, and the opponent's passes flowed deeply into their own vital area, causing the momentum to shift in the opponent's favor.
Tokyo, eager to avoid conceding a goal, was mainly attacked down their own left side, but SB Kokoro AOKI and CB Goshutsu repelled the opponents advancing toward the goal, preventing them from creating chances.
At the 26th minute, Saito received a long feed from Yanagisawa and sent the ball to Kawakami, who was making a forward run. Kawakami delivered a cross, but they couldn't bring it to a finish; however, Tokyo began to build their attack with good rhythm.
One minute later, Fukumori intercepted the opponent's ball! The ball was connected by Kishi and Saito up front while evading the opposing defenders, then dropped to Nozawa. From Nozawa, the ball was passed to Saito, who ran into the area in front of the goal, and Saito executed a brilliant lob shot!! The ball was swallowed by the net, adding another goal!!
Then at the 29th minute, Yanagisawa passed the ball to Nihei. Nihei dribbled and broke through the right side, playing a one-two with Fukumori. Nihei received Fukumori’s return pass and took a shot, but it went off target. From the corner kick on the right side, Kawakami sent a cross into the box, and Kishi scored a powerful header!!
From here, the opponent begins to apply pressure from the front on loose balls. Tokyo struggles to connect passes, and long balls also fail to reach their targets as hoped.
Although the opponent's defensive line is high, they press forward to capitalize on their few chances.
From this point until the end, Nihei made two dribbling runs and took shots, Fukumori calmly read the opponent's movements, and Kawakami, who ran into the open space, carried the ball forward by dribbling and took a shot, but they could not secure a decisive goal, going into halftime at 3-1.

At halftime, let's switch gears quickly after conceding a goal. Mistakes that happen while trying are okay. We must not be passive, such as stopping when under pressure. Let's avoid getting caught up in the opponent's foul-like plays and evade them.
And against the opposing DF, even if the first attempt to stop the ball fails, it can be stopped on the second try. We confirmed that we will carry out coordinated attacks using side changes and other tactics.

We continued to struggle with strong winds in the second half. Although we had the wind advantage and some chances, the strong wind disrupted goal control. Additionally, an accident occurred when documents from the opposing bench were blown onto the pitch, causing the match to be temporarily halted.
At the 49th minute, Nihei dribbled forward and passed to Kishi. Kishi immediately turned and connected to Kawakami, who took a shot, but the ball was blown over the goal by the strong wind.
At the 50th minute, Nihei cut in dribbling from the right side and passed the ball to Fukumori, who ran into the open space. Fukumori immediately turned and unleashed a powerful shot that bounced high above.
Tokyo, facing an opponent showing signs of fatigue, began to gain ball possession. However, they struggled to penetrate the vital area due to the opponent's concentrated, slightly withdrawn defense, resulting in more attempts at mid-range shots but failing to shake the net.
At the 63rd minute, Saito was fouled, resulting in a free kick. Fukumori's free kick from the left side of the penalty area was aimed directly, but the opposing goalkeeper caught it.
At the 68th minute, Nozawa and Kawakami executed a one-two pass. Nozawa received Kawakami's return pass and played a through ball. Saito received it and took a shot, but it went off target.
At the 72nd minute, Iwata was brought on for Fukumori, and the attacker duo of Buuso Amos replaced Kishi.
From here, substitutes Iwata and Buuso Amos continued to create chances up front. Also, the center-back duo of Gokatsuide and Yanagisawa stabilized the defense, limiting the opponent to just one shot in the second half.
At the 80th minute, Amos Bouzo broke free on a long feed from Itsukade, but the opposing goalkeeper rushed out and cleared the ball.
At the 84th minute, Iwata and Saito played a one-two. When Iwata received Saito's return pass and moved into shooting position, he collided with the opposing goalkeeper. A penalty kick was awarded. Unfortunately, Iwata's shot from the penalty hit the crossbar.
They pressed close to the opponent's goal until just before the end but were unable to score, and the match ended as it was.

"It was a game where we needed to score more goals. Although the ball control of the DF line was going well, after conceding a goal, the rhythm became poor, and issues such as not being able to devise ways to break down the opponent and launch varied attacks became apparent.
The next match against Mitsubishi Yowa SC Youth is against a team we fought in the same league during the 2011 season, competing to avoid relegation until the very end. The coach said after the match, "It will be an important game that will forecast this year, so I am looking forward to it."
Although we secured a win in today’s match, we are not satisfied with the result and want to correct the extracted issues as we prepare for the final match of the preliminary final league.

Thank you very much to everyone who came to the venue today despite the cold weather and gave warm support to the players.
We kindly ask for your continued warm support for FC Tokyo U-18.
