Commentary
The 3rd match of the 2nd league in the 14th Tokyo Club Youth Soccer U-14 Championship kicked off at 1:30 p.m. From the start of the match, the team struggled with the opponent’s long balls and quick pressure, making it difficult to find a rhythm. Amid this, at the 7th minute, after Saito passed behind the defensive line, the rhythm gradually improved. However, the opponent continued to rely heavily on long balls. At the 11th minute, when Niwano was fouled near the halfway line and earned a free kick, Tomita quickly restarted and passed to Saito on the opposite side, connecting to Endo and then Saito, creating a shooting chance, but it was ruled offside. Then at the 17th minute, Sato took a shot in front of the goal, and Kishi followed up on the rebound with a shot, but it went straight to the opposing goalkeeper. The first goal came at the 19th minute when Endo scored a brilliant header from a corner kick. At the 25th minute, the opponent took a shot in front of the goal, but it went straight to GK Oida. At the 29th minute, the opponent took a header shot from a corner kick in front of the goal, but it narrowly missed the target. The first half ended with a score of 1-0.
In the second half, they wanted to take the lead and control the match, but conceded an equalizing goal in the 32nd minute. In the 40th minute, a coordination error led to conceding a corner kick, but everyone stayed focused and defended it successfully. In the 41st minute, they faced a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper on a counterattack but were saved by the opponent’s kicking error. Then, in the 44th minute, Watanabe took a powerful long-range shot near the penalty area, but it missed the target. In the 49th minute, Sato stole the ball in the opponent’s half and passed through to Kishi, but the opposing goalkeeper caught it just a moment earlier. In the 50th minute, they were caught off guard and conceded a go-ahead goal. U-15 Fukagawa, desperate to score an equalizer, saw Watanabe persistently connect to Saito in midfield, who then passed to Kishi, but Kishi was unable to take a shot. In the 56th minute, a mishandling of a clearance ball by the opponent led to conceding a third goal. In stoppage time, they conceded another long-range shot, and the match ended 1-4. As a result, their record in the second league was 1 win and 2 losses, and they were unable to advance to the final tournament, now aiming for the final tournament in the fourth league.
