○Match Digest
The 2nd Round of the Club Youth Kanto Tournament kicked off at 11:00 a.m. at the Fukagawa Ground under light rain.
From the start, the opposing DF retreated and closed off the space behind. Fukagawa maintained possession while probing the front line but struggled to mount effective attacks. However, the first chance belonged to Fukagawa. From a right throw-in, Fukino broke free, advanced down the side, and delivered a grounded cross. Daiki HASEGAWA connected inside but just missed the target. No goal was scored. Later, from a corner kick, Koki HASEGAWA took a free header but did not make good contact, and the opposing goalkeeper caught the ball. Despite creating chances from restarts, Fukagawa could not break down the opposing DF during the flow of play and ended the first half scoreless.
In the second half, the side attacks began to function, with Fukino and Okaniwa repeatedly breaking through on the right side and delivering crosses, but the opposing DF's desperate defense prevented any goals. From a free kick on the left side, Yoshida connected with a header, and although the goalkeeper parried the ball, the opposing DF blocked it with their body. Then, Fukagawa had the biggest chance of the match. Daiki Hasegawa broke through on the right side and crossed. Arakawa took a shot inside, but the opposing DF blocked it with their body. The rebound was passed by Koki Hasegawa to a free Arakawa, who took a shot from inside the goal area, but the ball went over the crossbar. After that, although troubled by the opponent's counterattacks, the DF line maintained their concentration until the end, and the match ended scoreless. The game proceeded to a penalty shootout.
Fukagawa, kicking first, was scored on by captain Shinada. GK Takase saved the first penalty from Futchi.
Fukagawa’s second penalty taker, Koki HASEGAWA, also scored cleanly. Futchi’s second shot went wide, making it 2-0.
Fukagawa’s third penalty taker, Hori, deceived the GK and scored. Futchi also scored, making it 3-1.
Fukagawa's fourth player, Yokoyama, calmly slid the ball in to secure the close match with a 4-1 victory.
Unable to break down the opposing DF until the end, the match left some issues to address. Although the close win gave momentum, tomorrow's opponent is Forza02. A tense match is expected between the two Tokyo teams.
Just one more step to secure a spot in the national tournament. Everyone at Fukagawa is united in spirit, aiming for victory tomorrow.
Thank you very much for coming to the Fukagawa ground today in the rainy and slippery conditions and for your passionate support.
