○ Match Digest
FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi reached the Semifinal Round of the 25th Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship Kanto Tournament. With a strong desire to advance to the national stage, the players headed to Hamakawa Stadium, united as one, ready for the must-win match against Verdy Koyama SS. The match kicked off at 11:00 a.m. with Musashi in possession.
From the start, Musashi tried to control the pace by circulating the ball, steadily maintaining possession while building up the play. Musashi was searching for a breakthrough, but the opponent exploited a brief lapse and broke through behind Musashi's DF. However, GK Go HATANO bravely rushed out and blocked the shot with his body, averting danger. Taking this opportunity, Tokyo tightened their focus both offensively and defensively and went on the attack to score. Then, at the 15th minute, from a passing sequence on the right side, the ball was passed to Kuwahara who had made a run into the center; with a brilliant turn, he dribbled forward and struck the net!! Kuwahara scored the opening goal, and Musashi’s attacking momentum increased. At the 24th minute, Takahashi received a loose ball that spilled from the opponent’s DF line and with a one-touch pass sent a perfect ball to Ikiji on the right side. Ikiji dribbled into the goal area and fired a right-footed shot into the goal!! They scored an additional goal!! After that, through precise passing and seizing brief moments to break through, they created several chances but could not add more goals, ending the first half 2-0.
Musashi did not ease up on the attack in the second half and boldly aimed for the goal. Increasing possession, they gradually brought the game under their control. Then, at the 46th minute, Sekiguchi dribbled in from the side and passed the ball to Kuwahara, who was fouled after breaking through the opposing defenders, earning a penalty kick!! Matsuoka calmly converted it to score the third goal!! At the 50th minute, Musashi substituted Nagashima for Masataka Kobayashi to accelerate the attack. Then, at the 53rd minute, they earned a free kick near the area, and Ito took advantage of a brief lapse by the opposing goalkeeper to slide the ball into the corner of the goal for the fourth goal!! From here, Tokyo made substitutions without easing their attack: at the 55th minute, Yonetani replaced Kuwahara; at the 58th minute, Saijo came on for Mikio Kobayashi. Furthermore, at the 60th minute, Ozaki replaced Ito; at the 69th minute, Tanigawa came on for Matsuoka; at the 72nd minute, Otsuka replaced Tomoya Kobayashi, and Sugiyama replaced Sekiguchi!! The substitute players fulfilled their roles firmly. Then, in the final moments of the match at the 82nd minute, Tanigawa received the ball on the left side of midfield, dribbled past four opposing players with his specialty, and finished with a powerful long-range shot!! He struck the ball into the corner of the goal to score the fifth goal, and the match ended.
Musashi, who maintained concentration in both offense and defense, kept a clean sheet and secured the victory. Tomorrow, they will face the final qualifying match in the Kanto region for the national tournament. Their opponent is the strong Yokohama F.Marinos Junior Youth Oppama, who won the Kanto League Division 2 with a 14-point lead over the second place team.
However, without hesitation against the opponent, we will channel the frustrations we have experienced on the way here into continued effort and give everything we have to this match. Tomorrow’s game at 1:30 p.m., we will fight to win and secure our ticket to the nationals, for the sake of our teammates who are not here with us.
Thank you very much for your passionate support for FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi today.
We kindly ask for your warm support again tomorrow.
