FC Tokyo U-15 Musashi welcomed the first match of Sec. 1 in the 2013 6th Tokyo Youth (U15) Soccer League (Tokyo Top League). On a field filled with the warm atmosphere of spring, the 2013 season league opener against AZ’86 Tokyo Ome Junior Youth kicked off at 5:00 p.m. with the Tokyo ball.
At the start, Tokyo was nervous and played cautiously. Against AZ, who applied pressure from the front, Tokyo carefully moved the ball but was pushed back by the opponent's momentum and struggled to advance. At 5 minutes, AZ took a long shot and further intensified their aggressive approach to scoring, causing the momentum to shift toward AZ. However, Tokyo gradually got used to AZ's attacks and calmly connected passes. At 14 minutes, from a brilliant play, Ito took a mid-range shot, but it was blocked by the opposing goalkeeper's fine save. Taking this opportunity, Tokyo found a breakthrough toward the goal; at 17 minutes, Otsuka broke through the right side and sent a sharp cross in front of the goal, and at 21 minutes, Ikiji and at 34 minutes, Tomoya Kobayashi took shots, threatening the AZ goal. Tokyo, having started to seize the flow, ended the first half without capitalizing on these scoring chances.
In the second half, the entire team moved more and checked their timing to score. The breakthrough came in the 43rd minute. Ito quickly turned in midfield and faced forward, then delivered a pinpoint pass to Kobayashi, who had started running at just the right moment. Kobayashi received it and struck the net, scoring the long-awaited opening goal!! Energized, Tokyo’s Nagashima dribbled through the opponent’s goal area in the 49th minute and added a skillful goal for the second point!! Then, in the 60th minute, Kobayashi again received an exquisite pass from Ito and calmly slotted in the third goal, completely taking control of the game’s momentum!! After that, although Matsuoka’s middle-range shot and Kuwahara’s powerful shot—taken from a pass by Ikiji—hit the post, repeatedly threatening AZ’s goal, no additional goals were scored. However, centered around goalkeeper Takigawa, Tokyo’s defenders maintained their concentration until the end, securely protecting the goal and finishing the match.
Under the pressure of the league opening match, the team fought desperately and gained confidence from the game.
