○Match Digest
FC Tokyo U-18, who advanced as the second place in their group with 2 wins and 1 loss, faced the 3rd place playoff of the Sec. 14 Tokyo Club Youth U-17 Soccer Championship. The intense match kicked off at 11:00 a.m. at AJINOMOTO FIELD NISHIGAOKA, where despite the cold wind, warm sunlight was shining.

From the start, the contest was fierce and neither side gave an inch, but FC Tokyo aggressively pushed forward and took control of the pace. The opening goal came in the 12th minute. Kishi, who had made a run to the front, was fouled and earned a penalty kick. Kishi calmly converted the PK!! However, just four minutes later in the 16th minute, a foul was called against Tokyo, conceding a penalty to the opponent and conceding a goal. Although the match was back to square one, this marked the beginning of a goal rush by attacker Kishi. In the 20th minute, Kishi received a pass from Nagasawa and calmly slotted the ball in from the left side of the goal for an additional point!! In the 25th minute, following smooth passing play, the ball connected between Kawakami and Kamoike on the left side, and Kishi scored the third goal with a heel shot that shook the net!! In the 30th minute, Aoki carried the ball from the left side to the center, and Kishi struck sharply with his right foot!! Then in the 38th minute, Ito and Aoki linked through the center and side, and Kawakami unleashed a left-footed shot from in front of the goal that pierced the net for the fifth goal!! Just before halftime in the 44th minute, Kamoike headed in Kawakami’s left corner kick to seal the sixth goal, ending the first half.

At halftime, the players confirmed with Coach Motoyoshi, "We ended the first half in good form from start to finish. However, simply winning is not enough. Let's start the second half well, control both offense and defense, and go for the victory." With renewed focus, the players headed back onto the pitch for the second half.

Tripleta, who had been pushing forward, showed a compact defensive stance, leaving no openings for Tokyo to exploit. Although Tokyo maintained possession, Tripleta responded tenaciously. The deadlock was broken by Aoki. At the 62nd minute, from a withdrawn position, Kishi broke free and dribbled through. Just as the opposing defender caught up, Aoki ran in from the right side and shook the net for the 7th goal!! At 65 minutes, Tokyo made substitutions: Gokatsu came on for Yanagisawa, Yamagishi replaced Tamiya, and at 68 minutes, Watanabe was brought on for Aoki. The midfield formation shifted to Watanabe at left SH, Kawakami at defensive midfield, and Ito at right SH. However, at 74 minutes, they were caught off guard and conceded their second goal. At 82 minutes, fresh players were introduced: Shimodaira for Kamoike, Takada for Onishi, Aihara for Nagasawa, and at 88 minutes, Yamaguchi replaced Kishi. Then, just before the end at the 90th minute, Ito carried the ball by dribbling, and Takahashi, charging up from the right side, scored the decisive goal!! The match ended as it was, with FC Tokyo U-18 winning 8-2 and finishing third in the tournament.

This was the first tournament for the new team, but we want to firmly face the challenges revealed in this tournament and connect them to the league matches starting in April.
