○Match Digest
The weather at the Ajinomoto Stadium West Field was colder than the previous day’s 1st Round. The opponent in the 2nd Round of the 24th Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship Kanto Tournament was Kashima Antlers Tsukuba Junior Youth, who finished 2nd in the Kanto League Division 2 this season and secured promotion to Division 1. With confidence gained from overcoming a tough battle in the 1st Round, they aimed to seize victory. The intense match kicked off at 11:00 a.m.
From the start, Tokyo launched aggressive attacks, maintaining possession within the Tsukuba territory. At 10 minutes, they connected passes firmly, broke through from the side, and delivered a cross, with Oikawa finally attempting a header shot, but it did not reach the goal. Riding the momentum from the start, Tokyo at 12 minutes had Watanabe head the ball on a corner kick, but it was cleared by the opposing defender on the line, failing to score. From the corner kick gained in this attack, there was a scramble for the loose ball, where Koike broke free and took a shot, but it missed the goal frame. However, gradually the flow of the match shifted toward Tsukuba, and at 18 minutes, after breaking through the left side, a headed shot hit the post and spilled near the line, but it crossed inside the goal line resulting in a conceded goal. The first half ended with Tokyo trailing by one goal.
At halftime, with the formation change substituting Shirogataki and Hishiyama, the team headed onto the pitch for the second half aiming to score an equalizer. From the start of the second half, the scene was Tokyo attacking and Tsukuba defending while looking for counterattacks. Tokyo stuck to their style of play, building up forward, but could not complete the attack in the final moments. Conversely, Tsukuba regained possession and concentrated the ball on their number 10, aiming for an additional goal, but Tokyo's DF line held firm and did not concede. At the 65th minute, Okuma was brought on to replace Osuga. Using Okuma as a pivot, they effectively switched sides, and Hishiyama created a one-on-one situation against the opposing DF, but could not bring it to a finish. In the end, CB Watanabe was pushed forward to create more attacking opportunities, but Tsukuba's DF line's concentrated defense prevented any decisive chances. Despite the tough situation, Tokyo kept running towards the goal. With the spirit of "Let's all score one goal!!" held until the very end, they pressed close to the goal but could not score before time was up.
The 2012 season’s final official match, and for the third-year students, the last official match as FC Tokyo U-15, the Prince Takamado Trophy 24th All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship has concluded. The way everyone, including the bench, united as one to aim for victory until the very end will surely become a strength for each of them. We look forward to their further growth from here on.
