○Match Digest
The Kanto Youth (U-15) Soccer League Sec. 17 was held at Marinostown, where the provisional leader Yokohama F. Marinos Junior Youth awaited. From a situation only 7 points away from the relegation zone, they added 1 point by drawing the previous match, but Tokyo, provisionally in 8th place, is determined to seize victory in this match at all costs, break into the top ranks, and cause an upset. The match kicked off at 4:30 p.m. with Tokyo starting.
Tokyo wants to build up steadily and break through Yokohama FM, but from the start, they are unable to effectively carry the ball forward against Yokohama FM’s intense chasing from the front line. As time passes and Tokyo gets used to Yokohama FM’s attacks, they begin to create more opportunities to get behind the opponent. In response, Yokohama FM completely changes their tactics, retreating and dropping their line to intercept Tokyo’s advances and launch quick counterattacks to score the opening goal. However, Tokyo, led by Kaneda and Okazaki making their first starts in a while, defend firmly and do not concede any goals. Although chances gradually increase, they fail to score, and the first half ends 0-0.
Early in the second half, at the 50th minute, Hishiyama was brought on to replace Takeuchi, making the attack more aggressive. Yokohama FM reverted to their attacking style and actively pressed from the front line. Although they launched fast-paced attacks, Tokyo calmly responded, with the Tokyo DF line and goalkeeper Matsushima at the center, steadfastly defending against danger. At the 56th minute, Osuga replaced Nagura, who showed signs of fatigue, further increasing the forward momentum. Then at the 66th minute, second-year student Oda was brought on to replace Nomura, who had been continuously creating opportunities up front that day. Finally, at the 71st minute, the deadlock was broken. Okuma created a chance up front and connected to Oikawa, who immediately struck with his right foot, scoring the long-awaited opening goal!! At the 78th minute, Oda, making his first appearance in the Kanto League this season, shook off the opposing DF and unleashed a powerful right-footed shot!! He scored an additional goal, making it 2-0!! Although there were still moments when they were pressed, they managed to hold onto these two goals, and the match ended 2-0.
Securing a victory in this second match since the league resumed, the points have risen to 19. We want to keep fighting without giving up on the possibility of qualifying for the Prince Takamado Trophy, which is granted to the top four teams in the Kanto League.
