Kanto U-15 League First Half Sec. 15. The rain had stopped, and although there was no sunlight, the temperature was high and the weather was humid. The team traveled away to the Yokohama FC LEOC Training Center to face Yokohama FC Junior Youth. This intense match kicked off at 12:00 p.m.
At the start, Yokohama FC quickly launched vertical attacks, and Tokyo fell back to defend. In the 9th minute, a handling error was exploited, and the opposing FW calmly finished to take the lead. Even after conceding, the opponent effectively used the space between the midfield and defensive line, and the match proceeded at their pace. However, starting with a long-range shot by Watanabe Taku in the 25th minute, Tokyo began to press actively from the middle of the first half to seize control. In the 30th minute, from a loose ball after a restart, Yazaki took a shot that grazed the post but did not result in a goal. Tokyo struggled to score an equalizer. Then, the opponent simply exploited Tokyo’s open spaces and delivered a quick cross that Tokyo failed to close down, conceding another goal. The first half ended with the score at 0-2.
At halftime, Coach Okuhara fired up the team with, "Are you really okay with staying like this? The only ones who can express themselves in the match are the players on the pitch. Won't you regret it?" The players tightened their focus and headed back onto the pitch for the second half.
Just after the start of the second half, in the 42nd minute, from Koike's effective chasing, Okuma stole the ball in an advanced position and took a shot!! He launched a chasing strike, making the score 1-2. Tokyo played a more dominant game compared to the first half. At the 57th minute, a mutual misjudgment in coordination led to conceding a goal, making it 1-3. At the 60th minute, Nomura was brought on for Oikawa, with Nomura playing as a forward. In the 66th minute, Koike stole the ball from the front line, won the ball battle against the opponent, and unleashed a sharp right-footed shot!! The score closed to 2-3, pressing the opponent. At the 68th minute, Osuga was substituted in for Kaneda, and at the 78th minute, Koike came on for Takeuchi. However, immediately after this, an additional goal was conceded from a loose ball, making it 2-4, and the match ended as such.
Riding the momentum from the victory against JEF United Ichihara Chiba U-15, we faced the top-ranked Yokohama FC Junior Youth. However, struggling with the heat, we were unable to steadily play our own style of soccer. Today's match marked the end of the first half of the Kanto U-15 League, and the second half will resume on Sunday, September 2, against Mitsubishi Yowa SC Sugamo Junior Youth. Starting next week, we will enter the Kanto qualifiers for the Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-15). With a spirit of winning every match, we aim to take on our first game against Teikyo FC on Saturday the 23rd!!
