○ Match Digest
"More important than the opponent is first playing our own soccer. Let's do what we need to do properly." Before the match, after confirming the marking during set pieces, Coach Yamaguchi conveyed this to the players and sent them onto the pitch. This is a very important second match toward advancing to the Final Round.
At the 1st minute, Hirayama received a pass from Shirogataki and took the opening shot. The ball went wide to the left of the goal, but the team's mood lifted. However, immediately after, they conceded a goal on a counterattack due to a momentary lapse. (0-1)
However, perhaps sparked by this deficit, Tokyo launched a fierce offensive from here on.
At the 6th minute, Hirayama carried the ball in from the right side and took a shot, and immediately after, Watanabe Ryu picked up the rebound from the right corner kick and dribbled toward the opponent's goal.
At the 10th minute, Sawai feigned a long throw-in and passed to Honda nearby, who then delivered a sharp cross from the side. Although neither resulted in a goal, it was an attack sufficient to put pressure on the opposing team.
Then at the 15th minute, Hirayama, who dribbled into the opponent's penalty area, powerfully shook the net to equalize (1-1), and at the 34th minute, Sawai calmly finished a shot after receiving a pass following a right corner kick, turning the game around before halftime (2-1).
At halftime, 12 Arai was brought on to replace 5 Fukumori.
At 37 minutes, Sawai aimed a direct free kick, but the opposing GK made the save.
At 41 minutes, passes connected from Motofuji to Horikawa and Arai, and Sawai broke through on the left side but was offside.
At 43 minutes, 9 Hasukawa was brought on to replace 7 Hirayama.
At the 44th minute, Honda picked up the rebound from the right corner kick and aimed a floating shot, but unfortunately, it went just left of the goal. Immediately after, Hasukawa made a powerful dribble breakthrough down the right side, and Arai connected with the grounded pass cut back, but the opposing defender stubbornly cleared it.
During this period, although we occasionally gave the opponent counterattack opportunities, the defense led by Onishi responded accurately. They showed stability in both offense and defense.
Then at the 48th minute, Sawai directly targeted a mid-range free kick from the left side of the opponent's half, and just as the opposing GK barely saved it, Yamagishi followed up to score an additional goal! (3-1)
At the 57th minute, Arai broke through after exchanging passes with Honda, but the opposing GK stopped him. Immediately after, Onishi seized the chance to advance and aimed a shot, but this was also blocked by the opposing GK.
58', 34. Hishiyama was brought on to replace 11. Horikawa.
And from here, the goal rush began.
61', Sawai once again directly targeted a mid-range free kick in the opponent's half; the ball, spinning without rotation, struck the bar fiercely, bounced off the ground, and was sucked into the goal for the 4th point! (4-1)
62', 6. Tsuyoshi WATANABE was brought on to replace 10. Motofuji.
62 minutes, Hasukawa followed up on a loose ball in front of the goal to make it 5-1.
63 minutes, number 3 Yamagishi was replaced by number 15 Narita.
At 65 minutes, after a pass connection between Arai and Hasukawa created a chance, newly substituted Tsuyoshi WATANABE scored (6-1), and at 67 minutes, WATANABE once again tapped in a cross from the right side (7-1), successfully scoring consecutive goals in a short period!
Afterwards, they conceded 2 goals from a scramble during a corner kick and other situations (7-3), but in stoppage time of the second half, Hasukawa showed remarkable instincts in front of the goal to score his second goal of the day and seal the match (8-3). A commanding victory with 8 goals scored. With this win following the previous day’s victory, they took the top spot in the group!
Even today, despite being far away in Hokkaido, many people came to support us. We truly thank you very much.
Tomorrow is an important third match in the preliminary group, where we will compete to advance to the Final Round tournament. We sincerely ask for your passionate support.
