●Match Digest
The opponent for Sec. 6 of the 2010 Kanto Youth (U-15) Soccer League was Mitsubishi Yowa SC Sugamo Junior Youth. Currently, it was a must-win match between the lower-ranked teams in the same league. The match started with a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
At 1 minute into the game, from a long feed by GK Oida, Kishi broke through and earned a free kick due to a handball by the opposing DF. Kawakami took a direct shot, but it missed the goal by a wide margin.
At the 7th minute, the opponent was given consecutive corner kicks, but everyone stayed focused and got through this crisis. At the 10th minute, the right side was broken through and a cross was delivered, but Tagami on the opposite side covered a long distance back and cleared it. At the 18th minute, goalkeeper Oida firmly caught a cross from the opponent's free kick despite being charged.
At the 20th minute, Omura broke through the opponent's DF line but was cleared by the advancing opposing GK. Then, at the 29th minute, Kishi broke through the opponent's DF line and created a chance. Although the opposing GK almost cleared it, Kishi tenaciously kept the ball in a scramble and managed to kick it into the goal, successfully scoring the first lead goal of this league match.
At the 32nd minute, Sekine dribbled past two opponents in midfield and passed to Kishi, who got past one opposing DF and took a shot, but it narrowly missed to the left of the post. The first half ended 1-0.
Entering the second half, U-15 Fukagawa continued to attack aggressively. At the 42nd minute, Tagami took the ball on the left side, dribbled forward, and took a shot. At the 45th minute, Kishi received a through pass from Kawakami and created a shooting chance after exchanging passes with Saito, but the shot went wide to the left.
At the 49th minute, Kishi received a through pass from Saito and took a shot, but the opposing GK made a save. At the 51st minute, they were pushed back on a counterattack, but Sekine closely marked the opponent, preventing any free shots. At the 53rd minute, Kishi stole the ball up front and passed to Omura. Omura turned and took a shot, but it went straight to the opposing GK.
At the 55th minute, Omura had a one-on-one chance with the opposing goalkeeper on a counterattack but missed the target. At the 67th minute, a combination play from Kawakami to Sekine to Saito to Omura broke down the right side, earning a corner kick. At the 70th minute, during a dangerous scene in front of their own goal, Yamagishi blocked the attack with his body.
With 10 minutes remaining, scenes of being gradually pressed by the opponent's free kick pressure began to stand out. Even so, center backs Onishi and Yamagishi continued to clear long balls. On the contrary, in the 77th minute, Kawakami dribbled in and took a shot, but it did not result in a goal.
The stoppage time was 2 minutes. Then, in a play where surviving this set piece would have ended the match, the opponent’s heading shot hit the post and spilled right in front of their player, who pushed it in to score the equalizer.
And then the final whistle blew, with the 3 points that seemed within reach slipping away, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
The quality of the game has improved considerably, and we are now able to create decisive shooting opportunities. From tomorrow, we want to work on clearing each issue one by one.
Thank you very much for your support today as well.
