●Match Digest

The opponent in Sec. 4 of the second league of the 34th Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Kanto Tournament in 2010 was Kashiwa Reysol U-18. This match, which would secure advancement as the top qualifier with one game remaining if won, kicked off at 3:00 p.m. under cloudy skies and comfortable weather conditions.

Just 2 minutes after kickoff, Hashimoto headed a cleared ball to Maeka, who passed it to Iwaki on the left side. Iwaki boldly challenged with a dribble but was brought down by the opposing defender, earning a free kick. The ball kicked by Sasaki found Matsufuji, who had shaken off his marker and was free, with pinpoint accuracy, but his header narrowly missed the target.

After that, the forwards Maeka and Sasaki actively pressed to put pressure on the opponent, but the opponent was undeterred and tried to move the ball from their defensive line.
Still continuing the press, at 10 minutes, they won the ball and switched play to the right side to Hiroki, who passed forward to Eguchi. Eguchi sent in a cross, and Maeka won the aerial duel against the opposing defender, but his header lacked power and was caught by the opposing goalkeeper.

At the 18th minute, after winning the ball through pressing, Maeka made a precise pass from the center to Eguchi, who was running into a slightly right-sided space. Eguchi took a direct shot to the near side, beating the opposing goalkeeper, but the ball was denied by the post.

Gaining momentum, at the 21st minute, Eguchi crossed from the right, which Maeka let pass through to Iwaki. Iwaki dribbled inside and switched with Sasaki, who was overlapping. Sasaki carried the ball forward and took a left-footed shot, but it was caught by the opposing goalkeeper.

At the 29th minute, Hashimoto stole the ball with intense pressing and passed it to SASAKI. SASAKI created space and passed to Eguchi, who overlapped. Eguchi cut deep inside, carefully looked inside, and delivered a cross, but it did not connect with the players inside. Immediately after, Eguchi sent a cross from the right side, but Maeka's direct shot missed the target.

At the 37th minute, a pass from Yamaguchi reached Iwaki on the left, who then passed to Muramatsu making an overlapping run. Muramatsu returned the ball back to Sasaki, who carried it forward vertically and made a ground pass to Maeka, who was free inside. Maeka took a free shot but missed the target, missing a golden opportunity.
On the contrary, at the 40th minute, a tense moment arose from a counterattack, but the opponent's shot went wide of the goal.

At the 44th minute, Hiroki had the ball on the right and passed to Eguchi, who ran into the space ahead. Eguchi delivered a soft cross, and Iwaki won the aerial duel, but his header hit the opposing DF.
Then, in the added time of the first half, Iwaki sent the ball behind the opponent's defensive line from the left side, and the running Sasaki took a shot with his left foot. Although the opponent's GK made a great save, Eguchi and Maeka reacted to the rebound, and finally Eguchi pushed the ball in, scoring the long-awaited opening goal at a good moment, ending the first half as it was.

In the second half, the opponent began to move the ball, and at the 53rd minute, when the ball reached the opposing FW, he was easily allowed to face forward. As he dribbled on, a hurried attempt to stop him resulted in a foul. A penalty kick was awarded. The opponent successfully converted it, leveling the score.

However, immediately after, Hiroki delivered a perfect cross from the right side, and Maeoka took a free header shot, but he missed the target again.
On the contrary, at the 55th minute, the defensive line was caught off guard, and the mark was lost on the opponent's through pass, allowing a free shot, but GK Miura showed an excellent reaction and prevented the danger.

At the 57th minute, after a short pass from the left corner kick, Muramatsu sent in a cross, but Maeka's header missed the target. At the 61st minute, Sasaki dribbled from near the halfway line and unleashed a powerful shot, but the opposing goalkeeper made a great save, preventing a goal.

At the 71st minute, Iwaki broke through on the left side with a one-two pass with Maeoka, then dribbled past one opposing defender and cut inside to the goal line to deliver a low cross. However, Hashimoto, who ran in to meet it, just missed with his shot to the left.

In the 74th minute, Akioka was brought on to replace Maeoka. In the 79th minute, Iwaki took the ball on the left side, cut inside, and chipped a pass to Eguchi, who was running into the center, but Eguchi just missed reaching it.

In the 90th minute, Yuasa was brought on to replace Iwaki. Yuasa made a sharp dribble into the opponent's penalty area and finally passed to Sasaki. Sasaki carried the ball inside from right on the line and took a shot, but it was caught by the opposing goalkeeper.

Immediately after, when holding the ball on the last line, he slipped on the ground and lost the ball to the opponent, creating a one-on-one chance with goalkeeper Miura. However, Miura made a super save by quickly rushing out and sharply reacting to block the opponent's shot.

After surviving a decisive crisis and aiming for the goal without giving up until the end, Akioka was fouled inside the penalty area at the very end, but no whistle was blown, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Thank you very much for all your support today as well.
