Commentary
The rain that fell in the morning stopped before the match, but kickoff was at 15:00 under humid conditions.
FC Tokyo U-18 reclaimed the top spot last week by winning the Prince League match against Tokyo Verdy Youth. Maintaining that momentum, they now challenge the Kanto Club Youth Second League.
From the start of the match, the game proceeded at Tokyo's pace. At 4 minutes, they quickly scored the opening goal. Shigematsu flew in to score from a cross by Abe on the left side. Riding the momentum of the opening goal, they pressed toward the opponent's goal. At 24 minutes, Shigematsu scored his second goal. One minute later, Yamasaki scored to make it 3-0, and at 28 minutes, Yamaguchi scored the fourth goal, ending the first half 4-0.
Considering the consecutive matches this weekend, from the start of the second half, Maeka replaced Shigematsu, Mita replaced Hoshi, Umenai replaced Yamaguchi, and Hiroki came on for Sasaki. The players who entered from this second half brought even more momentum to the team. At the 51st minute, Umenai pushed in Abe’s cut-back for the 5th goal. Then, at the 55th minute, Mita headed in a free kick from Abe on the right side to score the 6th goal. At the 70th minute, Kasahara was brought on for Yamasaki. The attack was built starting from Kasahara. At the 75th minute, Hiroki received a pass from Umenai and scored from a tight angle on the left side for the 7th goal. Following that, at the 79th minute, Umenai received a pass from Kasahara and scored his second goal of the match, making it 8-0. The final goal of the match was scored by FW Maeka, who dislocated his shoulder in February, returned last month after a long rehabilitation, and made his first appearance in the squad and match this season. He headed in a cross from Abe on the left side to secure the 9th goal. With a total score of 9-0, they defeated Joso Identity U-18 and recorded their second win in the Club Youth Kanto Second League.
During the match, the weather improved and the temperature rose. Although it must have been physically demanding for the players, even in such conditions and despite the large goal difference, the defensive line maintained their concentration and managed to finish the game with zero goals conceded, which was also a positive outcome. From tomorrow, matches against J-League club teams will continue (7th vs Yokohama FC, 14th vs Omiya, 21st vs Shonan). We want to keep up today’s momentum and aim to qualify for the national tournament.
