さらに攻撃の精度を高めて勝ち続けたい一戦

　リーグ第20節は、アウェイで大分トリニータと対戦。前節鳥取戦は、終始主導権を握ってホームで快勝。5連勝を果たしたが、大熊監督は「連勝についてはあまり意識をしていないが、少しずつチームのベースができている。方向性としてはよいので、さらに課題を修正して、アタッキングサードでのコンビネーションから点を取れるようにしていきたい」と次なる目標を話した。

　対する大分は、現在勝ち点16で16位。好不調の波はあるもの、今季から指揮を執る田坂和昭監督のもと、アグレッシブさとまとまりが増し、勢いを見せている。特に3-4-3の布陣で、中盤のMF宮沢を軸に高さのあるFW森島や、スピードのあるFW三平、相手をかわすテクニックのあるFW前田らの攻撃陣は、それぞれに特長があり、彼らに自由にプレーさせないことが大事になる。

　東京は、前節から同じ布陣で臨むことに。これで5戦連続で先発に変更なし。梶山が「点を取るイメージが、徐々にみんなの中で合ってきている」と話すように、チームとしての狙いもはっきりとしているだけに、今節も前からプレスをかけ、守備の安定感を持続させつつ、相手の隙を突く攻撃の精度を高めて勝ち続けられるか。そこが見どころの一戦となる。

　さらにここのところ、セットプレーや相手の隙をチャンスを活かして得点することができている。バリエーションは増えているだけに、中盤とサイドバックの連係などから、大分の3バックの間のスペースを突いて、流れの中から得点を挙げ、勝利をつかみたい。試合は蒸し暑い大分銀行ドームにて19時05分に東京のキックオフで開始された。

Tokyo Set Sights On Sixth Straight Win 

F.C.Tokyo made the long journey south to Kyushu to take on Oita Trinita in the 20th.game of the season. The side was aiming for a sixth consecutive win following the comfortable 3-0 victory over Tottori is the previous outing. Manager Okuma played down the streak, saying, "We're not thinking about it too much, to be honest, the team's building a solid base little by little and we're going in the right direction. We still have issues though and we're working on our combinations in the final third of the pitch to score more goals". 
Opponents Oita lay in 16th. place with 16 points at kickoff. The side was unpredictable but was showing more aggression under first-year manager Kazuaki Tasaka. The side played a 3-4-3 formation built around midfield pivot Miyazawa with forward Morishima supplying height, Mitsuhira speed and Maeda the technique. Preventing them from playing would be the key to success for Tokyo. 
Tokyo remained unchanged for the fifth straight game. Midfielder Kajiyama commented, 
"We're slowly beginning to share a common image of how to score goals". Pressing hard from the front, defending solidly and exploiting any chinks in the Oita defensive armour would be the game plan, along with increasing the accuracy in attack and making the best of set plays. Exploiting space behind Oita's three-man backline by the midfielders and sidebacks would also be vital. 
Tokyo kicked off shortly after 7pm on a humid evening. 

チャンスを活かせず無得点で前半を折り返す

　序盤から東京がボールを支配、大分はカウンターを仕掛けるという展開が続くことになった。7分には、中央で田邉が浮き球パスをゴール前へ。DFにクリアされるも素早く中村が拾いエリア内の梶山へ。これを落ち着いてゴールに流し込むも、オフサイドの判定。13分には左サイドの中村がドリブルで中に切れ込んでクロス。こぼれに中村が反応してシュートを放つもDFがブロック。16分には中央の高橋が持ち上がり谷澤へ。トラップしてミドルを放つもGK正面に。

　攻勢はさらに続き、20分には高橋→ロベルト セザーがドリブルで相手DFを次々とかわしてシュートするも枠の上に。22分にも梶山がゴール前中央の森重にスルーパス。森重がターンしてセザーへ。すばやく右足でゴール左下に狙うが相手GKの好セーブでゴールは奪えず。26分には森重がゴール前にロングパス。抜け出した梶山が相手GKと交錯しながらも左足で浮かして狙うが枠には飛ばず。

　一方的な展開になるもネットを揺らすことはできず。その後も東京がていねいなビルドアップから何度もゴール前でチャンスにつなげたが、決定打を繰り出せず。逆に時折見せる大分・FW森島と右MF西を活かしたカウンターも塩田を中心に失点は許さず、スコアレスで前半を終了した。

Tokyo Fail To Take Chances In Scoreless First Half 

The game quickly settled into a pattern of Tokyo enjoying most of the possession while Oita tried to hit on the counter attack. In the 7th.minute Tanabe's lofted pass forward was cleared, Nakamura pounced on the loose ball and moved it along to Kajiyama inside the Oita area but he was given offside. In the 13th.minute Nakamura raced down the wing and crossed; ???? took the ball down neatly and shot but a defender blocked the effort away. Takahashi fed Yazawa with a through ball in the 16th.minute but Yazawa's shot was straight at Shimizu. 
Tokyo continued to press forward aggressively. In the 20th.minute Takahashi fed Roberto Cesar and the big Brazilian held off a defender before shooting narrowly over the bar. Two minutes later Cesar drew a stunning save from Shimizu, the Oita keeper diving low and left to keep out a firm drive after good work by Morishige. In the 26th.minute Morishige hoisted a long ball forward, Kajiyama sprinted through the Oita defence and attempted to flick the ball over the onrushing Shimizu's head. Kajiyama made contact first but the ball sailed narrowly over the bar. 
Tokyo continued to create chances as the game progressed without finding a decisive finish while at the other end Shiota marshaled the Tokyo defence to see off threats by Morishima and Nishi on the counter attack. The first half ended 0-0. 

大分の堅守を最後まで崩せずスコアレスドローで終了

　後半立ち上がりの47分には、大分・FW前田が力強いドリブルから、FW三平に右エリアからのシュートを打たれるも、ミスに助けられた。49分にはCKを得て、キッカーの谷澤がトリックプレー。ゴール前にグラウンダーを送り、高橋が走り込む。続く51分にもCKから梶山がヘッドを放つが、ともに大分GKの素早い反応に阻まれた。

　後半もボールを回す東京、切り替えの早い攻撃を仕掛ける大分という流れは変わらず。66分には梶山が巧みなキープからドリブルシュートを放ったが、どうしても枠を捉えることができない。61分には田邉に代えて大竹を投入。その直後にはサイドから中に回り込んだ谷澤→中央の大竹が前に向き直ってゴールを狙ったが、大分DFがブロック。

　82分には上里がボランチに入り、梶山を一列前に上げてゴールをめざした。だが逆に86分、大分MF西→FW三平にオフサイドラインをかいくぐられて、GKと1対1の場面をつくられる。だがシュートは塩田のファインプレーでセーブ！ロスタイムには、大竹の右CKをファーでフリーになった今野が胸で落とし、ボレーシュートを放ったが枠外に…。

　大分の3倍近いシュート数を放ちながらも、最後まで集中を切らさない大分の堅守の前に“1点”は遠く。6連勝は果たせず、アウェイで勝ち点1を得るにとどまった。

　【選手コメント】《梶山》「大分は5バック気味で、ボランチも引いてしっかりとブロックを作ってきた。それを崩すことができなかったが、今後、こういう対策を取られることが多くなるかもしれない。守備ではカウンターのケアなど、課題がはっきり見えた試合。負けてはいないし、今日得たものを次に活かしていきたい。今日は縦に早く急ぎすぎて、攻め疲れしたような印象もある。相手のブロックを崩すためには、もっとサイドを使っていかなければいけなかった。回しながら、サイドチェンジを入れて相手を揺さぶることが必要だったと思う。

　また攻撃のときに、つなぎながら休むようなことも必要だと感じた。アタッキングサードまでは進入できていたし、隙があったら攻めに出ていいのだが、もっと早いテンポでサイドチェンジをしたり、サイドバックの攻め上がりを使うことを徹底してやれば、相手の集中が切れる場面も出てきたのではないか。そういう回数を増やしていきたいし、質を高めてきたい」

　《塩田》「かなり攻めていたし、勝ち点2を失ったゲームだったと思う。（ピンチの場面もあったが？)大分のカウンターをくらうことが何度もあったが、そういったピンチの場面で失点を防げたことは良かったと思う。相手が攻めてくる回数はそんなに多くないので、守備のバランスを考えながら、とにかく集中している。

　(連勝がストップしたが？)ここ3試合無失点に抑えているが、それはみんながハードワークをした結果。今日も負けてはいないので、ネガティブには考えなくていいと思う。(次節からルーカス選手の出場も可能になりそうだが？)FWに限らず、チーム内での競争は良いこと。みんなコンディションがいいし、誰が出ても問題ないと思っている。今はチームが一丸となって1試合1試合を大事に戦って、勝ち点を積み上げていきたい」

　【大熊監督の会見要旨】「前半はチャンスを作っていましたが、思い切ったシュートが少し足りなかったと思います。後半に高橋が打った場面がありましたが、ああいう場面を前半から作って相手DFラインを引き出すことが必要だった。後半に関しては、攻めだけで言えば大分はきっちりと5枚のブロックを敷いてくるので、その裏を狙う決定的な場面が足りなかったと思います。最後に中央を攻めるのはいいがそこでの精度やGKとの間を狙ったクロスの精度とか。

　相手も暑い中、非常に頑張っているがDFラインの裏に出たときの精度やコンビネーション、狭いスペースでのプレーの正確性が欠けてシュートまで至らない場面があったと思います。守備に関しては塩田がよく防いでくれた。あれはこちらのポジションミスだと思うので、J2を戦う上で今後は絶対にやってはいけない。ただ本当に良く防いでくれた。ある意味そこを前向きに捉えながら修正して1試合1試合やっていくことが非常に重要だと思います」

　【大分・田坂監督の会見要旨】「まず今回このようなサポーター動員を１カ月前から会社・関係者・マスコミ・サポーターの皆さんが一同にこの7・9に向けて行ってくれたことに、この場を借りて感謝したいと思います。最後にこれを完結するためにFC東京に勝ちたいと選手に伝えました。それができるのは君たち選手しかいないと。そういう話の中から今日の試合に臨みました。

　もちろん今までやってきた中での対戦相手よりは、非常にレベルも高くスピード感も違い、前半はピッチの中で選手たちが戸惑うことや迷うことがあったのですが、それに負けるなとハーフタイムに言いました。後半は何とかFC東京相手にボールを動かしながら挑んで、チャンスも作りました。あと一歩のところでゴールは決められなかったが、選手たちは頑張って勝ち点1をギリギリもぎ取ったんじゃないかと思っています」

Oita Frustrate Tokyo As Game Ends Scoreless

In the 47th.minute Oita forward Maeda dribbled his way through the Tokyo defence and set up Mitsuhira, whose glaring miss from a good position earned Tokyo a reprieve from making a poor start to the second period. In the 49th.minute Tokyo won a corner and Yazawa attempted to surprise the Oita defence by playing the ball along the ground into the area where Takahashi met it on the run. Another corner in the 51st.minute saw Shimizu deny Tokyo again with a superb save from Kajiyama's header. 
The second half developed the same pattern as the first; Tokyo stroking the ball around, probing for openings and Oita attempting to hit on the break. In the 66th.minute Kajiyama showed his technique as he retained possession, dribbled forward and shot. Unfortunately the effort was wide of the target again. Tokyo replaced Tanabe with Otake in the 61st.minute. Shortly after his introduction Otake nearly broke the deadlock following good work from Yazawa but a solid block by an Oita defender cleared the danger. 
Tokyo introduced Uesato in a defensive midfield position in the 82nd.minute, moving Kajiyama one rank further forward. Oita had a golden opportunity to win the game in the 86th.minute as forward Nishi slipped the ball through to Mitsuhira, and the Oita striker was in the clear with only Shiota to beat. Mitsuhira shot but Shiota pulled off a superb save to keep Tokyo in the game. In additional time Otake floated a corner beyond the far post to Konno who had time to chest the ball down and shoot, but again his volley sailed over the bar. 
Tokyo had managed three times as many attempts on goal as their hosts but the tight Oita defence held firm to the end. The final whistle blew on a 0-0 draw that ended Tokyo's winning streak at five and earned a single point for their exertions.

Kajiyama 
"Oita played with a block of five defenders at the back and we couldn't break them down. I think we're going to see a lot of teams play this way against us from now on. It was a game that showed us the issues we face. We didn't lose though and we now have to make use of what we learned today in the next game. We played the ball straight up the field too much and I think that showed we're suffering from some fatigue. We should have used the sides more and played more crossfield balls to pull them apart. We also need to find some way of taking a break when we have the ball and are passing it around in attack. We also need to increase the tempo and bring the side backs into the game more. Basically we have to increase all those things and improve the quality of our game". 


Shiota 
"We attacked a lot but we dropped two points in the game. Oita had several counter attacks and it was very pleasing that we stopped them from scoring. They didn't really commit too many players into attack but we focused on our defensive balance and keeping our concentration. 
What about the winning run ending? Well, that's our third straight clean sheet and it's the result of everyone's hard work. We didn't lose today so there's no point in being negative. 
What about the prospect of Lucas playing in the next game? It's great that there's competition for positions throughout the side, not just in attack. We're all in good condition so there's no problem with whoever plays. The team is united right now and we just want to take each game as it comes and carry on racking up the points". 


F.C.Tokyo manager Kiyoshi Okuma 
"Although we created a lot of openings in the first half we didn't really take many shots on goal. We need a way of drawing the opposition out when they are defending deeply, as they did in the first half. We didn't really get behind their defensive block enough. Then in the second half when we were attacking through the middle we needed more crosses from wide positions into the danger area between the defence and goalkeeper. 
Shiota played very well today. That late chance came from a mistake in our positioning but he made a great save to keep us in the game. From now we have carry on with what we're doing, fixing what needs fixing and taking each game as it comes".

"First of all I'd like to thank the supporters and everyone who has worked so hard over the last month, the company staff and the media, to bring this great crowd here today. 
I told the players that the culmination of all this work would be in them beating F.C.Tokyo and that they were the only ones who could achieve that. We haven't been faced with an opponent like Tokyo so far, a top level team with great speed and some of the players were perplexed and we lost our way a little in the first half. I told them to overcome this at half time and in the second half we put pressure on Tokyo and made some chances. We nearly had the winner but it wasn't to be. Still, the players fought very well and really dug in to earn us the point".
