INTERVIEW 2026.1.21

Okinawa Camp Report DAY10

1/21 Training

On the 10th day of the Okinawa Itoman Camp, the players worked up a sweat with two training sessions, morning and afternoon. The morning session was a full-team practice at Nishizaki Athletic Stadium, and the afternoon was group-specific training.

The morning practice consisted of high-intensity drills using the ball. After warming up and sprinting, training began focusing on the movement of the third player while repeatedly performing pass & move exercises. The coach Rikizo MATSUHASHI’s voice echoed across the training ground: "Pass accurately. However, it’s not enough to just be fast; slow passes are also acceptable if they have intent."

In the subsequent one-on-one drills, the number of players increased from 2 vs 1 to 3 vs 2 and then 4 vs 3, while the width was also expanded accordingly to make the players aware of the speed of switching between offense and defense. Finally, the morning group training concluded with a game-style drill where new balls were continuously supplied by the coach without breaks whenever the ball went out of bounds.

In the afternoon, the players worked on menus tailored to each individual, concluding the day's training.

FOCUS ON - Today's Shot -

The official photographer selected this shot for today’s 'FOCUS ON.' Min Gyu JANG, aiming to participate in his fourth consecutive Club World Cup, spares no effort to reach the stage he admires beyond the blue and red. Last season, he saved the team multiple times with miraculous saves, and he continues to make outstanding saves in this camp as well. Like Yuto NAGATOMO, he frequently shows moments in daily training that reveal the intensity of a man chasing his dreams. The reliable guardian remains in top form.
