<Tsubasa TERAYAMA>
Q, How do you feel about the intensity of the training and the atmosphere of the team so far, having participated in the camp?
A, Both the players and the staff have a great atmosphere, and in a good way, it's friendly and lively, so we are able to train in a positive environment.
Q, What is your current condition, including preparations before camp?
A, I myself fell ill during the off-season, so I entered the camp in poor condition. Also, at university, I played on artificial turf, but as a professional, the pitch is natural grass, so I felt some discomfort with the difference in the pitch. However, since coming to Okinawa, my condition has gradually improved.
Q, What position do you think you can play originally, and what position are you likely to play in the future?
A, I want to compete as a defensive midfielder or an inside half.
Q, Do you think that watching the team building and the play of your seniors, for example, there are strong players as inside halves, and when it comes to anchors, Keigo HIGASHI is fixed and there is room for the defense line to settle down. Are there any specific points that you have noticed from watching the characteristics of your seniors, and have you been able to see any specific points that you have stolen or that you are competing for?
A, in the anchor position, I want to absorb what Keigo HIGASHI does in managing the game and his work rate by watching him. As for the inside half position, players like Matsuki and Abe demonstrate high intensity and work rate throughout the full 90 minutes, which is something I lack. I want to steal that from them, make it my own, and win the competition for the position.
Q, is it your determination to face each other head-on in that competition?
A, I also pride myself on my work rate and ball-winning ability, so I see them as good rivals in a positive way, and I want to play aggressively without holding back to take the position.
Q, I think you have actually won in Tokyo with that attitude, but how much do you feel like you can do as a professional when you join the team officially and accompany them again?
A, There are many high-level players, and I am stimulated every day, but even in this short period so far, I feel that I still have a long way to go. However, I don’t think I haven’t been able to perform either, but I believe that unless I can showcase one or two more aspects of my play, I won’t be able to take a starting position. Since there are good players, I want to steal, learn, absorb, and make my mark.
Q, Even during your time in university, you were still participating in practices, so it may not have felt like you were completely separated. However, after experiencing the disappointment of being demoted from the Premier League to the Prince League in U-18, it has been 4 years since then. Does this story connect for you, Terayama player?
A, I was frustrated when we were relegated to the Prince League in my third year of U-18, and during my four years at university, I trained every day to return to Tokyo. I am genuinely happy that the efforts I have built up were recognized and that I was able to join the team. However, I still haven't forgotten the frustration of that relegation, so now that I have entered the professional world, I feel a strong sense of responsibility, and I want to win the J1 championship and various other titles with Tokyo.
Q, Please tell me specifically about the parts that are still lacking and the parts that are applicable.
A, the areas I still need to improve are the quality and the amount of running. Especially in terms of quality, I feel that I am still lacking. On the other hand, I feel that I have been able to demonstrate my ball-winning ability during practice, so I have confidence in that aspect.

Q, I heard that you are conscious about your diet, what are you paying attention to?
A, Since middle school, I have been eating meat every day to build up my body. Now, since we are in camp, I try to avoid fried foods and focus on eating enough rice while paying attention to nutrition in my meals.
Q, What kind of meat did you incorporate?
A, it varied depending on the day, such as lean meat or Kuroge Wagyu beef.
Q, I think your family has been supporting you until now, but now that you have become a professional and your environment has changed, how will you manage it in the future?
A, I don't drink much protein supplements or the like. Now that I live in the dormitory, I am provided with meals that carefully consider nutritional balance, so I am able to have a well-balanced diet.
Q, I understand that you are not doing muscle training, but do you feel that the impact of your diet was significant? How do you feel about it?
A, I believed that eating meat in the morning would help my body grow bigger, so I kept eating it. Also, since I used to commute by bicycle during my school days, I think I was able to build strength through that as well.
Q, How long did it take you to commute every day?
A, it takes about an hour round trip.
Q, how is the professional camp going on the 4th day?
A, since I also had the experience last year,I understand the overall flow. This camp has also increased in intensity, so I think it will be a good camp.
Q, How is your communication with your seniors?
A, Since the seniors might leave for overseas at any time, I try to proactively communicate with them myself.
Q, Are there any players who speak particularly well?
A, I ask player Nagatomo about stretching and body care. We often talked after practice last year as well.
Q, What kind of period do you want to have towards the opening of the first season?
A, My goal for this season is to win a title, so I want to make sure I can demonstrate my abilities well in practice to contribute even a little.
Q, Do you have any thoughts on seeing the contributions of player Matsuki in his first season with the team last year?
A, Player Matsuki has continued to play and deliver results from his first year, so I hope to be able to play confidently from my first year as well.
Q, Do you talk directly with player Matsuki or communicate with him? Also, do you receive advice on how to produce results from your first year?
A, I have great respect for him as a person, and since player Matsuki often talks to me, we have good communication. Also, I hope to ask him about strengthening the mental aspect as well.
