INTERVIEW 2022.7.25

Newly Joined Player Interview
DAY1 Seiji KIMURA

Q: How is Tokyo after a return of about a year and a half?
A: It's nostalgic to be back in Tokyo after a long time. I felt the roads are narrow. In Yamagata, the roads were very wide, so I'm not used to narrow roads and feel a little scared.

Q, I think I have learned various things at each team as I have moved between three teams in a short period of time.
A, Each team I transferred to had its own unique characteristics. What I have acquired through moving in a short period is the ability to adapt well to changes in the environment.

Q: Have you been able to grow by playing according to each team's style?
A: Kyoto is a team that moves intensely during matches, so I think the intensity of my movements has increased. At Sagamihara, I was able to learn defensive responses and anticipation. Although I didn't play much in matches at Yamagata, since it is a team with a build-up style similar to Tokyo, I was able to learn how to move passes and possession respectively.

Q, When looking at SNS, there is an impression that each team is loved by fans and supporters.
A, I am very grateful. Since I was only with each team for half a year, I thought people might think I lacked loyalty to the teams, but that is definitely not the case. There were people who supported me, and I truly appreciate that.

Q, I think there will be a competition for the center back position.
A, Tokyo's center backs include Morishige, Kimoto, and Okazaki. All of them are excellent players, but I have returned to compete and win against them. As a player who came from the academy, I have to carry Tokyo on my shoulders, so I want to approach training with the intention of taking the starting position. When I get a chance in matches, I want to deliver solid results and work hard to never give up the center back position.
