INTERVIEW 2022.1.28

Interview with Yuki KAJIURA

Q, how do you feel about the camp so far?
A, I also participated in the camp last year, but having the experience of being away from Tokyo for such a long period to train is quite rare, so right now I am really enjoying it.

Q: Does participating in a camp as a professional player feel different?
A, the way we are perceived also changes, so we, who became professionals this year, feel that we must not lose. It’s frustrating and absolutely unacceptable if our joining causes the team’s quality to drop, so the determination and responsibility in that regard feel different from when I was in U-18.

Q, is there anything you feel when you actually play Albert's soccer as a player?
A, I have never experienced such detailed calculations and meetings before. I feel that this is the professional world, and there is so much to learn, so right now my top priority is to embody the coach's style of soccer.

Q: Did you have the experience of last year's camp, and do you feel more relaxed about this year's camp?
A: On the contrary, I feel less at ease this year. Last year, I participated in training as part of the U-18 team, but this year the situation and the style of soccer we are playing are different, so I feel less comfortable this year.

Q, is that the position you mentioned earlier as participating as a professional?
A, yes. I always have the awareness that I must have the consciousness and determination to act as a professional.

Q: We often hear players say "I feel mentally tired."
A: There are many things to think about, so even a slight delay in decision-making can disrupt the flow. We have to adapt to the style of soccer the coach envisions, so we must always keep our minds running at full speed.

Q: We are now at the halfway point of the camp. Do you have any goals from here?
A, I will work harder to showcase myself more and strive to break through regardless of being in my first year.
