INTERVIEW 2023.6.21

Peter Cklamovski Manager Inauguration Interview
"Bringing excitement and enthusiasm"

Q: The second day of training after taking office has ended. How is the atmosphere of the team?
A: I am proud to be able to compete as a member of this club. I am very excited and feel the high potential of the club Tokyo and the players. In order to move forward step by step toward our dream, we have also identified the challenges that need to be cleared.

Q: Please tell us clearly what points the club should aim for in the future.
A: I believe it encompasses everything about football. There are many things the team must do. We will continue efforts to improve every aspect—defense, offense, and set-piece accuracy—and aim to express these clearly in matches. My top priority is to bring a winner’s mentality to this club and to lift trophies. That is our dream, our primary goal, and our ambition. Of course, it is easy to express this in words. Players and staff must demonstrate it through their actions.
We want to create excitement and enthusiasm together with the spectators. We seek to see players fight with courage. To deliver a perfect performance, each element must be carefully coordinated. Hard work is essential to take these steps. However, by steadily improving each step, I believe we will build a team that no one can stop. As I mentioned earlier, hard work is an indispensable factor for that.

Q: Please tell us the style of football that Coach Klomovski ultimately aims for.
A: It is about building the "Tokyo Style." Playing with passionate aggression, strength, and intensity, it is important to fight bravely both offensively and defensively. I want to involve all of Tokyo through football filled with emotion. We must express a style of play that fans and supporters find even more attractive.

Q, yesterday's first meeting was very impressive.
A: I want to value each and every process with the players. I also want to share a clear way of fighting as a team with them, and create an environment where the players can find solutions and make decisions on the pitch. I want to show a clear path indicating which direction we must take.

Q, what did you feel when you observed the Kyoto Sanga F.C. match of the Levain Cup?
A: I think it was a match that truly embodied the spirit of fighting. The Tokyo I know is a club that expresses a fighting spirit. Seeing such scenes and attitudes in the Kyoto match was also inspiring for me. I am proud that the players and staff united to secure victory and advance to the prime stage. As a team, we must take each step carefully. We will build a team that excites fans and supporters when they watch the match, with plays that make them want to jump up and run to the stadium immediately to watch the game. Of course, there are points we need to improve, but I also want to highlight the good aspects we were able to express in the Kyoto match.

Q: Please tell us what you have felt again while communicating with the players.
A, football is all connected. Attack leads to defense, and defense leads to attack. A complete performance is required in every aspect. In all elements, we want to be able to express our own rules and style of play in every match. It is important to work harder than the opponent, win the battles, and evolve our football in every game. Rather than looking too far ahead, I want to firmly focus on the match right in front of us.
