INTERVIEW 2023.4.17

Interview with Kanta DOI
"Don't rush, keep moving forward"

Q, I have recovered from my injury and returned to practice for the first time in about 5 months.
A, there were times during rehabilitation when I was alone. I am enjoying being able to practice together with everyone like this.

Q, I don't think I was able to start my professional career as I wanted. Now that I can join the practice, do you have any thoughts?
A, I was involved with the top team last season as well, such as participating in practice, but my awareness as a professional player is gradually beginning to grow.

Q: This season, both Kota TAWARATSUMIDA and Naoki KUMATA, who were promoted to the top team, have made appearances in official matches. How does player Doi perceive the current situation?
A, I have absolutely no impatience.

Q: What differences do you feel in terms of training and content between your time in the academy and now that you have been promoted to the top team?
A, I feel a significant difference in the sense of speed, the intensity of play, and the depth when changing direction (where to place the ball).

Q: Please tell us again about the characteristics of your play.
A: I am confident in both short and long passes as well as build-up play.

Q: What kind of training will you accumulate in order to participate in official matches in the future?
A: I believe building my physical strength will be the foundation. I don't think I easily get outmuscled by other players, but I want to develop a body that can compete especially against foreign players and others with high physical abilities. In terms of stamina and other aspects, I intend to steadily build them up through training from now on.

Q, please tell us your enthusiasm for the future.
A: My immediate goal is to participate in the Levain Cup matches scheduled for May and June. From here, I will work hard to build up my body properly and aim to play in the J1 League within this season.

Q, there are many fans and supporters who have been supporting us since our academy days. Finally, I would like to ask all of you for a message.
A: I got injured in November last season and have finally returned. I will do my best so that everyone can see me playing energetically. Thank you for your support.
