INTERVIEW 2023.1.31

2023 2nd CAMP REPORT & INTERVIEW
DAY2 Hisatoshi NISHIDO

The second day of Miyazaki camp was attended by many fans and supporters, despite being a weekday. And it was two consecutive days of training under clear skies.

In practice, we performed positional games with a focus on expanding from the center back to the sides and breaking down the defense through coordination.

The time has come to enter the final stage of preparation for the opening. On the pitch, we could see players communicating with each other and making detailed adjustments. When shots weren't going in or the ball couldn't be moved forward, not only coach Albert Puig Ortoneda but also the players would give a rallying cry, demanding high quality from the entire team.

We have been able to build up our training with a focus on combinations and accuracy until the finish. We will demonstrate this achievement in tomorrow's training match with Zweigen Kanazawa and accelerate our team building towards the opening.

Hisatoshi NISHIDO

Q: How was the second day of the second camp?
A: I returned during the Okinawa camp, and from the Miyazaki camp onward, I want to raise my condition to the next level. After finishing the training on the second day, thanks to the support of the medical staff, I am in a very good condition.

Q: I joined the practice late due to an injury, but how do you plan to make an impression from now on?
A: I am very frustrated to have joined late, but there is no use in regretting it, so even while injured, I have been thoroughly preparing for my return. Right now, I think I am starting from the very bottom due to the delay. It is a tough situation, but I want to overcome it and build on it moving forward.

Q: What preparations have you made during the period of injury?
A, I had injured myself due to poor use of my glutes, so I have been doing training to consciously use my glutes properly.

Q: Speaking of training your buttocks, I think Yuto NAGATOMO is doing it. Do you have any advice?
A: I haven't been able to join NAGATOMO's training due to timing issues, but I would like to participate if I get the chance. I recently spoke with Yuto NAGATOMO and told him, "Please teach me next time," so if the timing works out, I hope to learn from him.

Q: Tokyo's side attackers are strong players, skilled players, and fast players, so the competition is fierce. What are your thoughts and enthusiasm?
A: There are many high-quality players among the side attackers, but there are no left-handed players with height, so that becomes my strength and individuality. I want to make use of being left-handed and do my best to keep up, even just a little, with the great players currently playing in matches.

Q, please appeal your own characteristics as we haven't been able to deliver Hisatoshi NISHIDO's play to the fans and supporters yet.
A: I believe my strength lies in my driving force, so I want you to see my ability to push forward when I have the ball, to get behind opponents even when I don't have the ball, and to make plays that advance the team toward the goal.

Q: During the camp period, there will be two practice matches. What will you focus on during these matches?
A: Even during practice, the quality of each action is demanded, so the standards have risen compared to my university days, and I feel the difficulty. In the practical setting of practice matches, I believe the quality of passes and crosses becomes important, so I want to play with even more focus and attention to detail than before.

Q, please tell us your goal for this season.
A, I won’t worry about being in my first year, but I will be careful not to get injured while playing in matches. I believe scoring goals is necessary for winning the league, so I want to embody the club’s football style for this season, “+1 GOAL (one more goal),” and work hard to contribute to FC Tokyo’s league victory through assists and goals.
