Q: How is the condition as the camp is coming to an end?
A: I am quite tired, but my condition is improving, so I want to keep getting better from here.
Q: How do you feel about the new style?
A: I think that as the level of completion improves, it will become soccer that is enjoyable both to play and to watch. It is difficult, but I am able to absorb various things from practice day by day, so I want to continue doing so.
Q, how would you express a new style in words?
A, I think it is close to the style of football that Manchester City plays overseas. It is a playing style where we firmly control the ball and continue to dominate the match for 90 minutes.
Q, is that penetration progressing?
A, compared to the first day, the accuracy has gradually improved even during this camp, so if we continue this, the level of completion will also increase. However, the accuracy is still insufficient, so we must keep making efforts every day.
Q: Where would you like to see Konno's characteristics demonstrated within the team's tactics?
A, we are required to firmly connect the build-up from the back, and the wide players are basically expected to stay wide and take on opponents. In that aspect, I believe I can make use of my strength, which is dribbling.
Q, there were many scenes of cut-ins even in practice matches.
A, yes. It is also a play I am good at, and I believe it is expected of me, so I want to connect it to assists and goals from there.
Q, the season starts immediately after the camp ends.
A: My condition is not yet at 100%, so I want to gradually improve it. Also, since I have accumulated some fatigue, I want to take good care of myself to avoid injuries. Taking on the side is my greatest strength, so I will work on improving the precision of my agility and ball touch.
Everyone is quite tired too (laughs), so I want to take a good rest after the camp, reset, and prepare for the season opener.
