●Match Digest
J Youth Cup 2010 18th J.League Youth Championship Preliminary League, Group C, 5th match opponent was Tochigi SC Youth. Under a cloudy and chilly sky, the match kicked off at 1:00 p.m.

Launching a fierce attack from the start, at 3 minutes, Matsufuji ran onto a free kick kicked by Sasaki but just missed connecting; however, Akioka took a shot straight on from the rebound, which was blocked by the opposing DF. At 6 minutes, Hiroki and Eguchi broke down the right side and sent a cross, but Maeka’s shot did not connect well and did not head towards the goal. Then at 9 minutes, Ishihara sent the ball behind the opposing DF line from near the halfway line, and with a mistake from the opposing DF, Akioka calmly slotted the ball into the goal to score the opening goal.
Building on this goal, they pressed the opponent relentlessly. At the 14th minute, the ball was passed from Hiroki on the right side to Eguchi, who used the space created by Akioka moving outside. Eguchi then passed to Maeoka in the center. Maeoka skillfully caught the opponent off guard and took a shot while turning around, which beautifully scored, making it 2-0. Continuing to create chances, at the 16th minute corner kick, Akioka connected with a header near the near post but just missed the target. Then at the 21st minute, from the left side, Muto passed the ball to Eguchi running into the center. Ishihara got involved and after a loose ball, Akioka drove it into the right side of the goal for the third point.

At the 24th minute, Eguchi sent in a cross from a loose ball following a free kick, and although Hashimoto beat the opposing GK to it, a foul was called.
Tokyo showed no letup in their attacking approach. Even when they lost possession, they quickly transitioned and continued to apply aggressive, forward-pressing pressure, forcing the opposition into situations where they had no choice but to clear the ball. At the 30th minute, a switch of play from Hiroki on the right reached Muto. Muto beat the opposing DF down the line and delivered a sharp cross between the opposing GK and DF. Akioka, arriving in the area, powered it in with a diving header to score the fourth goal. At the 35th minute, Ishihara dribbled past two DFs down the left side and broke through. Hiroki collected the loose ball from the cross and took a shot, but it went straight at the opposing GK. Then, at the 39th minute, the ball was played from Hashimoto in the center to Hiroki on the right. Hiroki sent an early cross between the opposing GK and DF, and Maeoka, arriving in the area, guided it with a superb touch of his left foot, but it narrowly drifted wide to the left.

Then, in the 40th minute, Tokyo won a free kick on the right side, and Muto headed in Sasaki's delivery for the fifth goal. Immediately afterward, Ishihara received the ball on the left, and it was moved directly and rhythmically from Akioka to Muto to Maeka to Sasaki, who was about to shoot, but he was ruled offside. Then, in first-half stoppage time, Hashimoto ran to the far post and headed a corner kick, but the opposing GK made a fine save. Akioka then headed in the rebound for the sixth goal, and Tokyo went into halftime with a 6-0 lead.

Even after entering the second half, Tokyo did not ease up on their attack. At the 48th minute, a long feed from Matsufuji reached Akioka flowing down the left side. Akioka used a kick feint to break through vertically and crossed. Three players were closing in, but the ball just missed connecting. Immediately after, Akioka, who had flowed to the right from a long feed by Kobayashi, became the starting point and passed to Eguchi, who ran inside. Eguchi took one touch and shot, but narrowly missed the target. Then at the 54th minute, Maeka was fouled and earned a free kick slightly to the right of the goal. Maeka himself aimed directly at the goal, and the ball, passing over the near side of the wall, hit the post and went straight into the net, scoring the 7th goal.

Even after entering the second half, they maintained their rhythm, and even when losing the ball, they quickly switched and continuously pressed to regain possession, advancing the match almost entirely in the opponent's half.
At the 55th minute, Maeka's shot went over the bar, at the 59th minute, Hiroki's cross did not connect with the players inside, and at the 60th minute, Sasaki's powerful shot hit the post. Then, at the 62nd minute, Ishida came on for Miura, at the 64th minute, Nozawa replaced Hashimoto, at the 66th minute, Okumura came on for Akioka, at the 75th minute, Iwaki replaced Eguchi, and at the 78th minute, Nihei came on for Sasaki, with substitutions made one after another.
In the 80th minute, Okumura won a challenge near the halfway line, and the ball was passed to Maeka and then to Iwaki on the right side. Iwaki dribbled inside and made a pass. In the end, Okumura took a mid-range shot, but it went straight at the opposing GK. Then, in the 87th minute, the ball was passed from Okumura to Iwaki on the right, back inside to Okumura, and then to Muto on the right. Muto carried the ball forward and lofted a cross to the far side. Maeka, who ran onto it, headed the ball past the opposing GK, but it was cleared by a covering DF.
Furthermore, in the 89th minute, the ball was passed from Nihei on the left side to Hiroki, who overlapped. Hiroki’s cross found Maeka running near post, but he just missed it. However, Iwaki at the far post showed a skillful shot that went over the opposing GK’s head for the 8th goal. Then, in the 90th minute, the ball was passed from Muto to Nozawa to Nihei, who cut inside and took a shot, but it went over the bar. In stoppage time, from a tight-angle free kick on the right, Okumura caught the opponent off guard and took a direct shot. When the opposing GK spilled the ball, Muto connected it, and finally Matsufuji pushed it in for the 9th goal, and that was the final whistle. Maintaining control of the rhythm throughout, we won 9-0.
