●Match Digest
The opponent in the 2nd Round of the 22nd Prince Takamado Trophy All Japan Youth (U-15) Soccer Championship Kanto Tournament was FC Fukaya. Under a cloudy sky but pleasant weather, the match kicked off at 11:00 a.m.
Musashi shows an aggressive attacking stance, using the field widely from the start of the match. At 5 minutes, from a cross by Enokido on the left side, Sasaki, who ran in, attempts a header shot in front of the opposing DF, but the opposing GK catches it. Immediately after, Kamoike steals the ball high up, carries it forward while drawing the opposing DF, and passes to Sasaki. Sasaki takes a shot, but this too is blocked by the opposing GK.
Then at 8 minutes, Yanagisawa breaks through the left side and sends a cross, which Ishizuka meets perfectly with a header to score the opening goal. Musashi wants to build momentum from here, but their work rate does not increase, and they cannot move the ball in their own rhythm, failing to establish a flow. Then at 12 minutes, GK Ohno misjudges an opponent’s cross ball, causing a tense moment, but they escape danger. Immediately after, they lose the ball in midfield and face a shooting counterattack, but the DF calmly responds, slowing the opponent’s speed and preventing a crisis. Furthermore, at 20 minutes, the right side is broken down and a shot is taken, but GK Ohno blocks it.
In the 25th minute, Ishizuka played a pass to Sasaki, who had moved out to the right side. Sasaki took on a defender with a dribble, beat one opposing DF, and sent in a cross, but it was cleared by an opposing DF just ahead of Wakasa, who was running in. Then, in the 27th minute, Wakasa passed to Enokido, who played the ball to Sasaki running behind the DF line. As the opposing GK rushed out for the ball, Sasaki tried to guide it into the goal a step ahead, but failed to hit the target. Furthermore, in the 30th minute, the opposing GK handled Wakasa's pass to Sasaki, who had broken through behind the defense, outside the penalty area, giving Musashi a free kick in an excellent position. Ishizuka attempted to score directly, but a foul by a player in the wall was called, and the chance was lost. Conversely, in the 32nd minute, they lost the ball poorly in midfield and faced a counterattack, but the DF responded calmly again and did not allow a shot. In the 36th minute, a single ball behind the DF created danger, but GK Ohno made a fine save to deny the opponent's shot. The defense was repeatedly put on the back foot by the opponent's quick-tempo possession, and the match proceeded at the opponent's rhythm.
To change the rhythm, Aoki was brought on to replace Sasaki. Immediately after, Aoki used his speed to break through and send in a cross, but it was cleared by the opposing DF just before Kamoike, who was running in. The first half then ended with a score of 1-0.
At the start of the second half, Ito was brought on to replace Yoshimura, and Enokido moved to right side back. At the 45th minute, the ball was switched from the left side to Ishizuka on the right side, then a pass was played from Enokido to Aoki running into a vertical space. Aoki made a move and earned a free kick due to a foul by the opponent. Kamoike took a shot on the rebound from this free kick, but it was blocked by the opposing DF. Conversely, at the 49th minute, a free kick was conceded in the center, but the players forming the wall blocked the shot with their bodies. At the 54th minute, Aoki used his speed to become a focal point up front, connecting passes from Yanagisawa to Ito. Ito broke through on the left side and crossed. The ball deflected off the opposing DF and fell to Yanagisawa, who took a shot but missed the target.
Musashi struggled to find their rhythm under the opponent's pressing, but as Aoki continued to target the space behind the opposing DF line, their defensive line dropped, allowing the ball to move gradually. Then, in the 57th minute, on the left side, Aoki passed to Ito, who sent an early cross. Kamoike, who had made a long run behind the opposing DF, went for a diving header, but the opposing goalkeeper made a fine save, and it was not a goal. Immediately after, Yajima was brought on to replace Wakasa. Then, in the 61st minute, Aoki held the ball and exchanged passes with Ito before sending an early cross. Yajima, coming in from behind the opposing DF, headed the ball but missed the target. Next, in the 73rd minute, during a counterattack from the opponent's corner kick, Ishizuka made a solo run down the left side and cut inside, delivering a low cross, but it just missed the three teammates running in. In the 75th minute, Kamoike kept the ball after receiving a pass behind the opposing DF from Kobayashi and passed to Ito. Ito shifted inside and took a shot, which went into the left corner of the goal, securing the second point.
Afterward, Tanaka, Tamiya, Takada, and Takayama were successively brought onto the pitch to make effective use of the time. Then, in stoppage time, Yajima passed directly to Tamiya from a pass by Takayama. Tamiya passed to Takayama, who had gone around the outside, and Takayama took a shot, but it went wide. And the match ended 2-0 as it was.
Although it was a difficult match, as we were unable to increase our work rate as hoped and struggled to establish our own rhythm, the DF unit, led by GK Ono, stayed focused in defense and converted our chances to secure the victory.
